Brock is our pick for Region 9 Offensive Player of the Year. He is an exceptional athlete and will be the primary target for the offense. He is a mismatch and a nightmare to scheme against. He's too tall and physical for defensive backs, too shifty and athletic for backers. If you shift coverage to his side, that leaves an opening for the other playmakers on the team. He is an elite prospect and will create chaos all season long.

Major is our pick for Region 9 Defensive Player of the Year. He is an absolute force and a dynamic athlete. He's too gifted to only play on one side of the ball. I expect him to see snaps on offense, and he'll contribute on that side. His calling is as an elite pass rusher, and he potentially can reach 20 sacks and disrupt every series on defense. He is a premier athlete and arguably one of the edge rushers in his class

Tanoai is our prediction for Newcomer of the Year. He's done exceptionally well at the JV level, and he's had a great offseason. He comes to an offense that will showcase the signal caller, and he will show off his arm talent and quick processing skills. He's primed to help lead Crimson Cliffs back to the state championship game. It will be fun to watch his development and growth over the next couple of seasons.

Region 10 Winner

East Leopards
The Leopards take a drop in classification, and they were vying for Region 6 last year against some stout teams such as West, Olympus, and Brighton. They're a run-heavy offense and will need to reload on that side of the ball, but their scheme works, and it slows down the game and limits possessions. They're well coached, and the drop in classification makes them a threat in this region.

Region 10 Runner Up?

Murray Spartans
The Spartans need to find a replacement in the run game and at quarterback. They are a balance with a lean to the run offense. If they decide to open it up, they have some capable receivers in the room and would make them a more dynamic offense. If they can find a rhythem in the run game, they could control the clock and slow the game down like they did last season.

Region 10 Contender?

Skyline Eagles
The Eagles drop down in classification and likely find the competition to their liking. They have two dynamic new players and a new offensive scheme. A revamped offense in a reclass is what they need to make a splash. The Eagles will find themselves on the correct side of the scoreboard more times than not.

Region 10 Offensive Player of the Year

Cocci comes in from the East Coast and lands in a cozy region where the dynamic dual-threat signal-caller can run wild. He has good velocity on his ball and is best when he is moving around the pocket and can make off-platform throws. He is a power runner who has good power to his game with the lateral quickness needed to make defenders miss in the open field. His ability to move around the pocket, buy additional time, and make the backer choose if he presses forward to contain the run or stay in space where Cocci can move the chains. It's that stress that makes defenses tired, and he can make a big play. He is a signal caller that is hard to bring down. If the pocket collapses, the defensive linemen still have the task of bringing him down. He is a strong player who can brush off arm tackles and continue with his play. He'll have a big year in the 4A classification.

Fakahafua transfers in from Timpanogos, and he'll be a tremendous addition. He is an excellent backer who has good instincts, finds his way to the ball, and is good in open space. He can be used as a pass rusher if needed, but his overall skill set allows him to be versatile and can fill any void a defense may have. He should feast on the competition of play in this region.

Max is a hybrid athlete who will be impactful on both sides. Offensively, he'll be a short-yardage back and tight end. He shows good hands and can be used in multiple formations. He is a physical player and looks for someone to hit, and his home will be on the defensive side as a backer. He'll be best used as an on-ball, attacking backer where he can roam and make plays. The MKE position is where he can best be used, as he can be the captain of that defense and can attack and be shielded with the front four. Cocci is an exciting prospect and a high-level performer who should be a playmaker on both sides of the ball.

That was our look at Regions 9 and 10.

Region 9 Winner?
Crimson Cliffs Mustangs
The Mustangs return key players on both sides of the ball and indoctrinate a new signal caller who is a budding sensation. The high-powered offense will offset any growing pains on the defensive side. They have a tough start to the season, but that should get them battle-tested once they hit region play and make a run at state.
Region 9 Runner Up?
Pine View Panthers
Offensively, the Panthers have an offense that has been together and know how to play together, and are primed to take off this year. Their defense will improve, and the overall team will benefit. They have an easier schedule, and they should be able to capitalize on that. They should make the postseason and could make some noise.
Region 9 Contender?
Desert Hills Thunder
They have questions offensively, but they have a good offensive line, and the defense will be stout. If they can catch fire offensively, they could be a big threat within the region.
