In the month of June, we always give our rankings a fresh update and add more players to each class. We kicked off our ranking update series with the 2028 class. Last week, we continued with the 2027 class, ranking the top 125 juniors going into the 2025 football season. In case you missed it, you can check out our 2027 rankings RIGHT HERE. And this week, we finished up the ranking update with a brand new 2026 ranking, featuring the Top 200 2026 prospects in Oklahoma. Following each ranking update, we also dive into the rankings and talk about the players that are standing out and what makes them among the best in their class. Earlier this week, we put out a breakdown on the top five stock risers, followed by the top five newcomers. In this breakdown, we're putting that spotlight on the running back position with the top ten guys at the position in the latest update.
[player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] - Jenks

Jenks star and Oklahoma State commit [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] not only has held on to the top spot at the running back position, he's also held on to the top overall spot in the state's 2026 class. Jones has had a stranglehold on the top spot and will go into this season as arguably the top playmaker in the state of Oklahoma. Jones has had just about every program in the country recruiting him but this spring, he settled on giving his commitment to OSU.

[player_tooltip player_id='858876' first='Tayveon' last='Parry'] - Union

Union running back [player_tooltip player_id='858876' first='Tayveon' last='Parry'] finally had his breakout moment last season. In each of the last two offseasons, we've really liked what we've seen from Parry and we've just waited for that breakout moment to happen in the fall. It did and it didn't take long as Parry exploded out of the gates in 2024. Not only is Parry a reliable running back but he's also proven to be a threat out of the backfield with the passing game.

[player_tooltip player_id='449184' first='TJ' last='Bradford'] - Newcastle

Newcastle's [player_tooltip player_id='449184' first='TJ' last='Bradford'] is going to come into this season as one of the more experienced players in the state. Bradford will be a four-year starter for a Newcastle team that made a run to the 5A semifinals. In our opinion, Bradford is one of the more unappreciated prospects around the state when you consider all that he's done in the last three years. Not only is he dominant on offense but he can be a lockdown corner on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] - Owasso

Owasso running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] is definitely near the top of the list for running backs we want to see this season. The last time we saw him in action in a real game, he was running up and down the field in Edmond in the state title game. The most recent time we saw him, he was doing much of the same in a spring scrimmage against Mustang. Hall has the potential to be one of the most underrated prospects in this 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='858875' first='Jordan' last='Clark'] - McAlester

McAlester's [player_tooltip player_id='858875' first='Jordan' last='Clark'] took a sizable leap up the rankings in this last update. He's been a 2026 prospect that's been on our radar for a while now but we think that this season could be a big one for Clark. After getting a chance to watch him in person at a team camp this spring, it looks like Clark has gotten bigger and stronger and he has the potential to have a massive season as the Buffaloes begin a new era under a first year head coach.

[player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] - Elgin

The last time we watched Elgin's [player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] in a real game, he was carrying the ball 40+ times as he helped guide the Owls to their first state championship in school history. Meyer is one of the best athletes in Class 4A but we're very interested to see how he does this season as Elgin has to replace multiple D1 signees on the offensive line. And it should be noted that Meyer is one of the state's better baseball prospects in the '26 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1045556' first='Jayson' last='Moll'] - Bixby

[player_tooltip player_id='1045556' first='Jayson' last='Moll'] has had two very productive seasons with Owasso over the last two years but this offseason, he's moved south to Bixby and will be a big part of what the Spartans do offensively this season. Moll has a chance to be the marquee back in this Bixby offense and he's had to split carries in each of the last two years. Despite that, he's still put up some big numbers and he's one of the shiftiest guys in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='476091' first='Mayor' last='Morgan'] - Choctaw

Choctaw's [player_tooltip player_id='476091' first='Mayor' last='Morgan'] is such a fun player to watch and he's primed for a big senior season. Morgan is a smaller running back but he's so incredibly powerful in his lower body and that makes him a problem in a one on one situation. We watched Morgan go to work in the spring and team after team would come up short trying to bring him down. In the last few weeks, Morgan gave his commitment to Air Force.

[player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] - Sulphur

Sulphur's [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] recently announced his commitment to Navy and he brings that hard-nosed attitude to running the football. Mobly almost carried the Bulldogs to the Class 3A state championship a year ago and similar to Meyer at Elgin, we are fired up to see what he can do this season because he has that ability to carry the ball 30+ times a game and the rare quality to get stronger as the game plays on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] - Collinsville

Collinsville's [player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] wraps up the top ten and he's a player that we're definitely interested in coming into this season. Rigby got off to a massive start last season but had injuries sideline him for a few games. He still put up some monster numbers last season but we're very intrigued to see what kind of production he can have with a full season this fall. He'll be another top running back in Class 5A this season.
