Grinstead is a shifty back who does a nice job making defenders miss in tight spaces. He has the speed to get around the corner and turn the edge when a lane opens up. One thing I like is that he doesn’t seem to be in a rush. He’s willing to let blocks develop and trusts what he sees before hitting the hole. He plays hard, competes every snap, and strikes me as a pretty smart player with how he approaches the position. Year one gave a few flashes. I’m interested to see what year two looks like now that he has some experience under his belt.

Grinstead flashed sudden explosiveness throughout the day and looked comfortable operating in space, highlighting the athletic tools that make him an intriguing two-way prospect moving forward.

The former Lyndon Lightning stand out is well-put together in terms of muscle mass and enters high school with pretty good speed. On the field he displays strong contact balance that makes him difficult to bring down in the open field if a defender makes contact on him. Not necessarily a burner, but fast enough to get through the holes opened for him. In theory he would thrive more in a power run scheme, than a zone scheme, but he can do both. This off-season he has worked hard as of late to improve his presence in the passing game. He looks noticeably more comfortable and natural catching passes out of the back field.
