Davis has been giving defenses fits for four years and the Mississippi State signee will arrive ready for action. Seth is phonebooth quick, he is shifty in space and his acceleration in the open field enables him to separate from defenders at the second level. He uses great pad level, runs with excellent leverage and he has the ability to get small, while keeping his shoulders square through contact. Davis’s ability to stop, start, cut and get vertical in a hurry are special traits in his game. Seth left no doubt that he was a “High Stepper” during his career at Katy High School by churning out 6,691 yards and 76 touchdowns as a Tiger running back. He will no doubt have the opportunity to assert himself into the Bulldog depth chart when he arrives in Starkville.

Momma there goes that man again! Katy may not have won, but it wasn’t because of Davis. He balled out..again. Smooth runner, he follows his blocking and accelerates. A one cut runner, he does not waste time with choppy feet! When he plants his foot, he makes defenders miss. He should not scientifically run that hard for his size! His breakaway speed is lethal! Once he gets to the open field, it’s an automatic touchdown. I have yet to see him get caught from behind. The senior finished a losing effort with 257 yards rushing and two touchdownds. Great career, and I am looking forward to seeing what he does in college!

I have to start with the workhorse of this Katy team: Seth Davis Seth Davis 5'7" | 165 lbs | RB Katy | 2023 State TX ! Davis was impressive the whole night. He ran tough for a back that is not considered a power back. He showed great acceleration once he hand open field. Arm tackles were not going to stop him. His vision and quickness were phenomenal. Davis possesses really great speed with his longest run coming from 69 yards out! He is a patient back, not rushing, and allowing his line to open holes. He did a nice job of setting up his linemen as well. He would run one way and side hop to a different hole, getting defenders to fully commit to one side. Davis is everything you would want in a bell cow back. The senior finished his night with 241 yards on 21 carries SIX touchdowns…you read that right…SIX!
