Recent Offers: College of Idaho
Powers is heading into his senior season as one of the top defenders across Idaho and has recently seen his stock rise, picking up an offer from College of Idaho. He is a powerful interior rusher that moves well for his size and has some twitch and sudden power from the 0-3-tech. Look for Powers to collect plenty of other NAIA+ opportunities.
Powers is one of the more violent and high impact players across Idaho, and is a true 3-tech with twitch and snap at the next level. He is a block eater, plays with good leverage and a powerful strike at the POA while showing he can quickly reset the LOS and shed. Powers is athletic enough to two-gap, split double teams and is overall a well-rounded prospect at defensive tackle. An obvious weight room guy, he can also provide an interior pass rush with a explosive first step, quick use of hands and can win with converting speed to power quickly while also showing plus athleticism for his size/change of direction abilities. Powers is another prospect that should draw plenty of D3+ interest/offers moving forward and is a no-brainer next level guy.
Powers checks into our rankings as one of the top interior rushers across the state. He is a very powerful defensive tackle that wins with a good initial strike and lockout and does a good job at using his leverage to get underneath blockers and reset the line of scrimmage. Powers also shows he can violently get off blocks, eat double teams and has quick block recognition in the run game while very stout against the inside run. At 6’1″, he is a shorter interior prospect, but makes up for it with tremendous technique, a high motor and is a twitchy and athletic pass rusher for his size.
Powers checks into our ranks as one of the top defenders in the state regardless of class, and is a true powerful interior rusher that does a nice job resetting the LOS, creating immediate knock back and establishing inside hand placement at the POA. He shows the ability to two-gap when needed, violently sheds blocks and takes on double teams/wins with good leverage and redirect abilities as well. Overall, he is a very well put together and balanced defensive tackle that is a no brainer college player, and should draw more interest sooner rather than later.
Powers is dominant force on the entire of the defensive line, he dominates against the double team and gets great interior push. His strong hand strikes and ability to hold his ground then shed blockers to make plays is what separates him from other defensive lineman.
Powers is a prototype defensive tackle with the ability to absolutely eat up blocks in the interior. Extremely powerful with his punch and anchor once he get his leverage he is hard to move. Quicker than you think for a player of his size and the ability to time the snap count is uncanny. He has long enough arms to create good separation and then is able to make plays in the backfield quickly after shedding his blocks.
