PRZTN Top Performers: Week Two POTW

We had several strong options in contention but a certain underclassmen from East Tennessee took home the top award. This East Tennessee junior was basically unstoppable and a key force in helping guide his Hilltoppers team towards a 2-0 record. Harris plays both ways for his team and may even develop in the secondary for college but this kind of performance lends more time in the film room looking at Harris for running back. Athleticism and speed is what stands out about Harris and what could get college coaches interested in his upside. This junior gunslinger had his best game to date with McCallie by spinning it for over 440 yards and four scores while only throwing four incompletions. Wherever this Canadian native wanted to put the ball, he did it. Fortier might have the most powerful arm within the TN2028 class that can push the ball down field better than almost all quarterbacks inside the Volunteer State. Whether it was stopping the run or chasing down the quarterback, Ntumba did it and did so with athleticism, force and speed. The Eagles offensive line had no answers for this guy. Ntumba pretty much did anything he wanted to on the field last Friday evening. Watching over his game film, Ntumba has vastly improved both his body and game while starting to form into a legitimate and possible Power Four level recruit. The big men up front did a great job of pass protecting and keeping Fortier clean while also opening holes in the run game for <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1307180' first='Macc' last='Chapin'] </strong>and the Blue Tornado ball carriers. The offensive line is big and highly talented with multiple future college players. The staff did a great job of getting their team to re-focus and bounce back after a commanding defeat in “Week One” to Page to knock off a good Patriots football team. The Bobcats took that opening loss to heart and worked on their deficiencies throughout the week then applied their force Friday night. It was an impressive performance from the team as a whole and one both sides of the ball can build on for the rest of the season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - - - - - - -&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Positional Players of the Week</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>QB POTY: [player_tooltip player_id='834810' first='Crews' last='Jenkins'] </strong>- Brentwood Acad.&nbsp; (Stats:19-24 passing for 378 yds &amp; 4 TD's)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Jenkins put together one of his best on the field performances thus far throughout his Eagles career last Friday where he was near flawless in his team's victory over Brentwood. Only throwing five incompletions on the night, Jenkins put the ball wherever he wanted but also received help from a talented receiving core that helped him produce over 370 yards passing and four touchdowns on the night. It was a stellar night from this future Ole Miss quarterback and a great game to build on for the rest of the season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>RB POTY: [player_tooltip player_id='2089830' first='Cole' last='Sims'] </strong>- White Co.&nbsp; (Stats: 13 carr. for 324 yds &amp; 3 TD's)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- White. Co. is 2-0 after two weeks with Sims being a major cause in those efforts. This senior ball carrier produced his best game yet with the Warriors as he ran for a little more than 320 yards while producing three touchdowns on the night. His speed and vision proved to be a problem for the York Institute defense that had nobody that could keep up with him. Sims is a hidden gem that runs well. Bartlett is a big time athlete with separating speed that the opposition had a hard time keeping up with. When the ball touched his hands, Bartlett either took it for a long gain or found his way into the end zone. This sophomore signal caller brings dual threat capabilities to the field that Clifford put on full display in this game. He was dangerous with legs, scoring four times while being efficient in the pass game, only throwing four incompletions. This is the type of game that helps get players on the map and Clifford did that with his outstanding performance in “Week Two.”&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>DL/Edge POTW: [player_tooltip player_id='1038498' first='Will' last='Pasley'] </strong>- GCA ‘28&nbsp; (Stats: 6 tcks, 5 TFL &amp; 4 sacks)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- One of the best defensive tackle prospects from our TN2027 class, Pasley imposed his will in last week's victory over Carter where he could not be blocked nor kept out of the Hornets backfield. Whether it was stuffing the run or sacking the quarterback, Pasley did just about anything he wanted. The Rams senior is a massive young man in the middle that carries his weight well while throwing it around to dominate offensive linemen. More performances like this might force Power Four programs to get heavily involved and eventually extend offers.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>LB POTW: [player_tooltip player_id='932926' first='Daegen' last='Collins'] </strong>- Hollow Rock-Bruceton&nbsp; (Stats: 18 tcks, 2 TFL &amp; 2 sacks)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- The Tigers are off to a 2-0 start after their 34-12 win over Gleason last Friday where Collins was a defensive force that made tackles all over the field, including the Bulldogs backfield. This senior two-way backer made his presence felt from start to finish as Collins consistently found himself around the ball. He was stout against the oppositions run game while also harassing their quarterback, producing two sacks on the night. If the Tigers are to compete for a playoff spot, more performances like this from Collins will need to happen.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- - - </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>DB POTW: Trace McCoy </strong>- Fairview ‘29&nbsp; (Stats: 11 tcks, 2 PD &amp; 2 Int's)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- This was a coming out performance from this sophomore safety that made his presence both with his tackling and his ball hawk capabilities. McCoy was everywhere on the field last Friday night in the Yellow Jackets 21-14 win over Centennial. He proved to be a nuisance on the back end by picking off two passes, breaking up several others and making multiple tackles in open space.
