Week 1 Scouting Report: Grand Blanc

He showed some good pocket presence and was able to move around a bit to give himself some throwing lanes, and took advantage of some loose coverage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the game went on, DeWitt was able to do some more damage on the ground, and sprung a couple of explosive runs to set Grand Blanc up nicely, and was able to find his way to the end zone. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Super impressive night that ended with a huge win over a big-time opponent. He regularly got up under the pads of the offensive linemen and using his strength to clog the middle and create chaos. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He was incredibly competitive, didn't take any plays off and was a vocal leader of the defense. He did a great job of grinding out the tough yardage and falling forward when running between the tackles. When he got out into the open field, he turned on the jets and outrun angles. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The highlight of the night came on a screen in which he ran through nearly the entire Belleville defense. His ability to play man, cover a zone, play the ball and tackle made him so versatile. Covering some of the best receivers he will see all season long, he was confident and made play after play. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The highlight of the night came when he was able to break on the ball and get a huge 4th down PBU. There were multiple examples on Thursday of him taking complete control from the snap, driving his man out of the play and putting them on their back. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He has good footwork, showed good initial punch and the ability to be an absolute road grader in the run game.
