The first defensive-back edition of the Robinson Report featured multiple established recruits and Power Four commitments. This second group includes a different collection of prospects: an All-Ohio senior, experienced varsity contributors, and younger defensive backs with significant developmental upside.

Each player brings something different to the secondary. Some provide versatility and proven production, while others are preparing for their first opportunity to be featured as varsity defenders.

Here are five more Ohio defensive backs to know entering the 2026 season.

Kentsten “Kent” Staten, ATH, Maple Heights, 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='1595569' first='Kentsten' last='Staten'] will begin his senior season at Maple Heights after transferring from Bedford, where he established himself as one of Northeast Ohio's most versatile players.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Toledo commit earned second-team All-Ohio recognition in Division III last season. Staten contributes as a quarterback and strong safety, allowing him to influence games from both sides of the ball.

Staten's quarterback experience benefits him in the secondary. He understands route combinations, offensive spacing, and where quarterbacks expect receivers to appear. That knowledge helps him diagnose passing concepts and position himself to challenge the football.

He also brings the physical mentality required to play near the line of scrimmage. Staten closes downhill, supports the run,n and can be used as a pressure defender. His ability to cover, tackle, lead, and communicate gives Maple Heights flexibility when constructing its secondary.

Staten committed to Toledo after receiving offers from programs including Miami (Ohio), Memphis, Bowling Green, and Kent State. His senior season will provide another opportunity to demonstrate that he can become a productive college defensive back.

X: @_kent6

[player_tooltip player_id='949473' first='Massuod' last='Seidu'], CB/ATH, Pickerington North, 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='949473' first='Massuod' last='Seidu'] enters his senior season as an experienced athlete for a Pickerington North program that consistently faces some of Central Ohio's best competition.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound corner contributes in the secondary and return game. He also competed in Pickerington North's state-qualifying 4x100-meter relay, providing verified evidence of the speed seen in his football film.

Seidu's recovery ability stands out in coverage. If a receiver gains an early advantage, he has the acceleration to close the separation and play through the hands at the catch point. His short-area quickness also gives him the potential to match slot receivers who rely on option routes and sudden changes of direction.

The next step is turning more of his coverage opportunities into takeaways. Seidu has the movement skills to remain connected, but becoming more aggressive when the ball arrives would elevate his overall production.

With his varsity experience, speed, and special-teams value, Seidu has an opportunity to become one of Pickerington North's senior leaders.

Prep Redzone profile

[player_tooltip player_id='1630565' first='Wayne' last='Holloway Jr']., CB/WR, Austintown Fitch, 2027

[player_tooltip player_id='1630565' first='Wayne' last='Holloway Jr']. is an under-the-radar senior who produced one of the more interesting coverage stat lines in Northeast Ohio last season.

The 6-foot, 150-pound corner recorded one interception, 12 pass breakups,s and two tackles for loss. The pass-breakup total demonstrates how consistently Holloway put himself in position to challenge throws, even when those plays did not become interceptions.

Holloway uses his length to disrupt passing lanes and compete at the catch point. He stays involved throughout the route and does not stop competing when a receiver creates initial separation. His experience as a receiver also helps him locate and track the football.

Adding strength will be important, particularly when facing physical receivers and supporting the running game. However, his frame gives him room to develop without sacrificing the movement skills that make him effective in coverage.

Holloway should be a senior prospect for college coaches to evaluate during the opening portion of the season. If more of those pass breakups turn into interceptions, his recruitment could gain momentum.

X: @WHollowayj677 | Hudl: Wayne Holloway

Logan Drummond, DB/WR, St. Ignatius, 2028

Logan Drummond is entering an important junior season after gaining experience on the St. Ignatius varsity roster as a sophomore.

Drummond was listed at 5-foot-9 and 155 pounds last season and has experience as a defensive back and receiver. He also comes from a football family. His older brother, Braeden, became a starting cornerback at St. Ignatius before continuing his career at Lake Erie College.

The younger Drummond is still developing physically, but his experience in the St. Ignatius program is significant. The Wildcats regularly face one of Ohio's most challenging schedules, which requires their defensive backs to prepare for multiple offensive systems and talented receivers.

Drummond shows quick feet, competitive coverage, and a willingness to contribute in different roles. His offensive experience should continue to improve his route recognition and his ability to play football.

This season should reveal more about his long-term projection. With an expanded varsity role, Drummond has a chance to establish himself as one of the more intriguing defensive backs in Northeast Ohio's 2028 class.

Hudl: Logan Drummond

Bryson Bonner, S/ATH, Licking Valley, 2029

Bryson Bonner is the youngest player in this group, but his combination of size and versatility renders him a prospect worth tracking now.

Bonner is listed at approximately 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds entering his sophomore season. His background includes experience as a safety, linebacker, defensive end, wide receiver, and tight end.

That versatility renders his eventual position difficult to determine, but it also demonstrates his overall athletic ability. At safety, Bonner possesses the frame to become a physical box defender who can match up with tight ends and larger receivers. If he continues adding weight, he could eventually develop into a hybrid safety or linebacker.

Bonner's offensive experience should also help his ball skills. He understands how receivers position themselves, how routes develop, and how to compete for possession at the catch point.

He is still a projection prospect and should not be evaluated like an established senior. However, defensive backs with his size and multi-position background are always worth following. His development over the next two seasons could make him one of the more interesting members of Ohio's 2029 class.

X: @bryson_bonner27
