Rhodes will have the spotlight on him this fall during his sophomore season playing for one of Kentucky's premier football programs. With a Kentucky offer sent his way this offseason, expect the Frederick Douglass prospect to turn some heads with his size, strength, and skills on the gridiron. Rhodes' long body enables him to rise above defenders to catch the football in contested situations, and his long body and wingspan allow him to reach forward for extra yards. I expect him to be used a lot in deep ball situations, as his long strides and quick feet help him break free of his cornerback and get open down the field.

Kenyon Ellis has an updated height of 6'1" and 190 pounds entering his sophomore season of high school football. In South Laurel's preseason scrimmage against Danville last weekend, Ellis scored on a 70-yard touchdown pass on a play where he used a double move to slip past the cornerback and safety, outrunning the defense and breaking a tackle along the way before reaching the end zone. In all, he caught three passes -- all for chunk yards -- for two touchdowns. If he's used similarly during the regular season, South Laurel could have a star on their hands with three years left to play for them.

Keylan Bailey is a rising wide receiver prospect from Caverna High School northeast of Bowling Green. Bailey competed in a scrimmage last weekend against Red Boiling Springs (TN), where he broke free on a wheel route for a long touchdown reception. Another highlight showed him dancing around the backfield as a running back, breaking a couple of tackles before bouncing to the outside for a chunk gain. He has good speed along the outside and in the open field. His shiftiness is something he showed on occasion last season as well.

Quinton Simon burst onto the scene as a freshman by catching three passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns in two games last fall. To start this season, Simon competed well in Highlands' recent scrimmage against Ryle High School, scoring two touchdowns on impressive catch-and-run plays. First, Simon's QB connected with him on a slant. Simon stood tall through contact and shook his defender free before barreling his way into the end zone. The second saw him drop back for a bubble pass in a bunch formation. Simon caught the ball and patiently followed his blocks before turning on the jets and outrunning the rest of Ryle's defense.
