Bailey is a dynamic playmaker who can make plays anytime he touches the ball. He’s a good kick returner with the vision and speed to find a crease and flip the field in a hurry. They also got creative with him on offense, giving him a Wildcat snap that he bounced outside and took 50 yards for a touchdown. He also had a 42-yard receiving TD to add to his total on the night. He’s the type of athlete you just find ways to get the ball to and let him go make something happen.

He scored two touchdowns offensively, one on a 50-yard touchdown run as the wildcat quarterback. Another was a 42-yard reception, which allowed him to break free along the outside. He was also a major threat on special teams whenever he received the ball and even ran in a kickoff return for a touchdown. His team dressed 15 players during the matchup, and despite having to play basically the entire game, he kept making plays for his team when his number was called. If Caverna has a chance in any game this fall, it will be on Bailey’s back.

Keylan Bailey is a rising wide receiver prospect from Caverna High School northeast of Bowling Green. Bailey competed in a scrimmage last weekend against Red Boiling Springs (TN), where he broke free on a wheel route for a long touchdown reception. Another highlight showed him dancing around the backfield as a running back, breaking a couple of tackles before bouncing to the outside for a chunk gain. He has good speed along the outside and in the open field. His shiftiness is something he showed on occasion last season as well.

Bailey is a shifty athlete who does a nice job making defenders miss and breaking tackles after the catch. He has the traits you look for in an inside receiver, with quick feet, good body control, and the ability to create separation in short areas. He also has good speed and can turn a routine catch into a bigger play when given space. The movement skills fit naturally in the slot, where he can work against linebackers and safeties. As he continues to develop, he has the potential to be a reliable chain mover.
