It was a beautiful night for football in Versailles. We finally made it to week one of the 2026 high school football season in Ohio. Colin Boff and the Harvest Prep offense showed quick strike and big playability. in the end it was Versailles with their smash-mouth running attack or “Tigerball” as they call it along with a timely passing that propelled the Tigers to the win. Let's take a look at a few other players who stood out in the game.

Kaiser got onto my radar last year as a freshman as he became the first high school freshman in OHSAA history to win the heavyweight division state championship. This was my first first time getting to see him compete on a football field and he didn't disappoint. There's still work to do when it comes to technique and playing the position, but when we talk traits, there are traits galore with this young offensive lineman. At 6'6” in 235 pounds he has the frame to take on the weight necessary to play at the next level. Athletically he bends well and has great feet. You can see his wrestling background in how he long arms defenders. He has the foot speed and athleticism to easily get to the second level with his blocks. Kaiser could easily be a fast riser into becoming one of the top offensive line prospects in Ohio's 2029 class.

Monnin did an excellent job of operating the Tigers offense. His athleticism and his ability to run the ball were a big asset in the running game, and he made the timely throws when needed. His throwing mechanics are solid. I think his athleticism and ability to throw along with this frame make a candidate to play at the next level.

Jackson played both sides of the line, but I like them best on the Offensive side. He has strong feet and bends well. He plays with good intensity that other players seem to feed off of. I think it's good feet and the frame would be a good fit on the interior of the Offensive line at the College level.

Marshall was another two-way player along the line. At 6'4 he has the prerequisite height and length to play offensive tackle in college.

The Bowling Green commit had a had a strong week 1 game as he threw for 300+ yards. He really had the intermediate and short game under control and his playmakers took it from there. One thing I really liked about Collin was his patience and calm demeanor in the pocket. He never looked rushed to throw. In short yardage situations, he was not afraid to tuck the ball and run with physicality to gain the necessary yards.

SJ had a good feel for where the soft spots in the defense were found them and made himself available.
