The group showed early signs of being strong at the top and talented throughout. It's continued with tremendous growth, many of these student-athlete finding college homes to continue competing in the sport.

One of the best parts about tracking a recruiting cycle is finding out where student-athletes fit on the next level, which many of them have done. The process is different for everyone, however. Sometimes everything clicks into place on a smooth timeline. For others, it takes more time to find the right home.

Anderson hasn't reported recruiting news publicly in quite some time and didn't appear to be committed anywhere when the new 2027 Prep Dig Iowa rankings dropped in late August. If there hasn't been much contact with colleges and he remains available, somebody needs to get on that. The Sioux City East senior is packed with power that could work on the interior of either line. On offense, he can grade the road and clear the way. Anderson eats up blocks and keeps the backers clean from a D-Tackle spot. The Black Raider front man is more than a big body, too. He's agile and athletic, able to work well in space.

Donald's recruitment has been slower than his talent might indicate. Sometimes that happens, guys slipping through the cracks until the right match comes along. I'm confident that will happen for the big man from Prairie. There's no doubting the size and strength. It's uncommon for the high school level. The potential for more is in there as well. While he excels at left tackle for the Prairie Hawks, a move inside on the next level would be where his power, agility and footwork play up. Grand View and Graceland offered him opportunities this summer. More programs should come calling in what is expected to be a dominant senior campaign.

Parks is one of the better uncommitted players remaining in the Iowa's 2027 Class. That could be big trouble for Xavier opponents this fall as the talented signal caller looks to impresses college scouts while making winning plays for the defending state champions. During an unbeaten run to the title, Parks completed 72.7 percent of his throws for 2,220 passing and 28 touchdowns against just two interceptions. He contributed 383 yards and 10 scores on the ground. I scouted him during the state semifinals and was impressed with how he delivered in clutch moments against a salty Newton defense. Parks plays within the Saint system, leaning into ball control and defense. If he's unleashed, the upside is tremendous. He can make all the throws.

Drake, Sioux Falls, Augustana and Upper Iowa have extended college opportunities to Mahr. He's had interest from bigger schools, some of whom could very well jump in with offers if he puts together a strong senior season. With his size, speed, agility and large catch radius, that would be far from a surprise. He's a matchup nightmare for a lot of defensive backs. Expect his numbers to rise significantly from the 23 catches for 379 yards and four touchdowns he produced in 2025. Mahr definitely has a sizable ceiling as an X receiver on the next level. And if he develops into a tight end from a physical standpoint, the upside would be even higher.

One of the more interesting uncommitted players remaining on the board when the Prep Redzone Iowa Class of 2027 rankings update was released in late August, Creighton is like a Swiss Army Knife as a prospect. Colleges should view him as a high-end athlete with speed and a projectable frame that can be molded into whatever the staff sees as best. As a prep, Creighton shows a high aptitude for making plays with the ball in his hands. He's linear for a running back, but makes it work with a good feel for flowing with the offense, keeping the pads low, making defenders miss and running over them. It's a frame that also would work at receiver or at defensive back. Special teams also would receive contributions.
