The 2026 North Carolina high school football season is nearly here. It can be easy to miss talented players across the state, and often fans miss some of the best players, especially at private schools. There's plenty of talent across the NCISAA ranks, and here, we're looking at some of the top players in that association. He's one of the strongest edge rushers in the state, an old-school power rusher who can cave the pocket with his bull rush. He's also flashed secondary pass-rushing moves. Because of his power profile, he can slide inside and hold his own, even against the run. That versatility will serve him well at the next level.     Taylor is one of those rare high school edge rushers who has already shown the ability to pivot mid-rush and win with a secondary move. He has a plan on every snap, rarely hesitating as a pass rusher. He's not the biggest guy, but he has great hands and functional strength. We expect another huge year from the senior in 2026.     Donzo is a raw, high-upside edge rusher from Trinity Christian, and he's earned an early South Carolina offer. That usually signals that our initial assessment of the defender was right, as that staff tends to excel when it comes to early defensive line offers. He can play inside or outside, and may ultimately end up as a quicker, leaner three-technique at the next level. For now, we love him on the outside, where his length and power are on display.     Donzo has been hard at work this offseason to put on weight. He plays a lot on the interior, but as he continues to grow, he'll likely kick out and play on the edge. Right now, he's a better run defender than his brother, but he hasn't hit his pass-rushing ceiling yet. Could 2026 be the year when he breaks out in that area? He's picked up a lot about the nuances of the defensive line in a short time, and there's plenty of potential yet to be unlocked.     After playing as a bigger linebacker and a standup edge rusher in past seasons, I'm interested to see what Stevens can do with his hand in the dirt. He's a hard-working technician whose body is catching up to his mind. Accordingly, we think he could have a huge junior season at Christ School. He uses his hands well, and he's flashed good bend when he rushes the passer.
