Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp: Nate's Offensive Skill Standouts

We dive into our last prospect camp of the summer which found us at Minnesota-Morris, located about three hours northwest of the Twin Cities. The Cougars had just over 50 athletes in attendance for their first prospect camp they have ever had since we have been with Prep Redzone Minnesota and is new prospect camp that we recommend to recruits. as every athlete in attendance got tons of reps which is the name of the game if you want the best bang for your buck when it comes to prospect camps in the Midwest. We start out with what were our offensive skill standouts from Saturday at Big Cat Stadium.   Quarterbacks    Brock was a 2029 quarterback at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp that was a new name for us at PRZ Minnesota that grew his stock the deeper we got into camp on Saturday. He's got plenty of upside to grow with his throw mechanics, but we saw a quick growth curve during camp on Saturday from his first steps to his lasts of camp. He intrigued me most of the day with his precision on intermediate routes and has upside with growing more touch on his throws. The great thing though that I learned about Brock, is I thought he was quite coachable for his age so I would expect his skillsets to grow pretty quickly. based on my first live eval on Saturday.     Another new name out of the quarterback group from the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp was St. Cloud Tech's [player_tooltip player_id='2251437' first='Steven' last='Schiller'] in the 2028 class. Steven was a QB prospect that you could feel the progression he made from start to finish of camp as by the end he was trending towards my top-tier in the quarterback group up in Morris. What intrigued me with Steven was the consistent precison he showed off especially with his throws on intermediate routes and later in camp, deep routes showing growing ball placement around the edges. The 6'0 155 pounder has upside to grow from an athletic standpoint as well for thorws outside of the pocket, but surely a new name to keep track out of St. Cloud.     One of the top-tier quarterbacks I got to watch at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp was Rogers 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1652586' first='Jackson' last='Mastel']. I feel he was one of the more position-flexible athletes in attendance that hopefully is getting consideration at quarterback and defensive back at the next-level. The poise Jackson has out out of the pocket is one his top skillsets from my live eval as he was more comfortable in the pocket than I had expected. He has some upside left to prove as far his timing with his WRs as although he progressed throughout the day he showed some raw ability that was coachable with his growth towards the end of camp. Back to back UMAC camps where Jackson has picked up an offer as Crown College and Minnesota-Morris have both pulled the trigger with offers in recent weeks.     QB MVP   My selection for QB MVP at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp went to Breckenridge 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2128339' first='Riley' last='Kappes'] on Saturday. He was well-versed with his timing of his routes and in my eyes had the best poise I saw amongst the quarterback group. His timing was evident on muliple levels of the field. The athletic traits I saw grow from December during the state championship game as Riely was well-rounded across the board with his testing. He's one that I would expect to get some more recruting attention this summer into fall as there's again, plenty of position flexibility you could place Riley with positionally in my eyes.    Running Backs:    Another Outstate running back that caught my attention in the 2028 class out of BBE was [player_tooltip player_id='2221811' first='Aiden' last='Detloff']. Aiden was a running back that you could see the speed and elusiveness pick up once he got into the second level. As a pass-catcher he showed off solid hands on quick routes out of the backfield from what I got to watch and shows growth from an upside perspective with gaining more instinctive movement upon getting the ball his hands. Sure;ly a junior to watch for out BBE that I will be intrigued to get some more tape on this fall.     Griffen was one of a few running backs that caught my eyes in the live eval at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp in what has been a productive summer of camps for Pequot Lakes on our camp trail. The 5'8 215 pounder has added to his frame in the weight room and showed off as one of the more fluid ball carriers in attendance at Morris. I also came away intrigued with his hands out of the backfield, as one that had the opportunity to create space in the open field when he needed to with his vision. A two-sport athlete that could be a senior bloomer to watch for in the Patriots offense.    Wide Receivers    WR MVP   Taking our nod for WR MVP at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='2222978' first='Courage' last='Sayiah'] out of Moorhead that was just added to our 2029 rankings just last week. Courage had the best hands I saw regardless of which level he ran his routes on last Saturday in Morris as that was another skillset to mention, you would have expected by the blind eye that this young man was an upperclassmen but is just entering his sophomore year at 6A powerhouse Moorhead. He also showed his efficency with his pass-catching ability in higher traffic areas as well. The explosive traits are there for the taking for Courage, as he recorded a camp-best as sophomore with a 9'9 broad jump.   <a href="https://x.com/Couragesayiah" data-type="link" data-id="https://x.com/Couragesayiah">TWITTER</a>     Another wide receiver that was in my top-tier in the wide receiver group from the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp was Minneapolis Camden 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2251671' first='Devonta' last='Buggs']. He might have been one of the smaller wide receivers in attendance, but man was this young man a playmaker with his change of direction in the open field out of the several reps that I watched. Devonta also showed well-versed seperation ability even on shorter or quick routes along the edges. I was also quite impressed with his ball-tracking ability, as Devonta did a solid job readjusting on his route to find the ball quickly and played with a chip on his shoulder going up against mostly more sizable DBs. He picked up his first college football from the Cougars after camp.   <a href="https://x.com/BAMAAA_" data-type="link" data-id="https://x.com/BAMAAA_">TWITTER</a>    Tight End    One of the couple tight ends in attendance that caught my attention was 2027 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1550521' first='Lane' last='Caldwell'] out of Windom. The 6'3 235 pounder took reps on both sides of the ball at tight end and defensive end with the DL group at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp and there's some intriguing skillsets that translate to the next-level at either spot. He showed off a frame that has grown significantly this offseason heading into his senior season, but still has can utilize his quick get off to create opportunities to gain first downs on short and intermeidate routes. Projection wise, I liked what I saw out of him as a defensive end in the live reps from Minnesota-Morris.
