One of the couple tight ends in attendance that caught my attention was 2027 tight end Lane Caldwell Lane Caldwell MN out of Windom. The 6’3 235 pounder took reps on both sides of the ball at tight end and defensive end with the DL group at the Minnesota-Morris Prospect Camp and there’s some intriguing skillsets that translate to the next-level at either spot. He showed off a frame that has grown significantly this offseason heading into his senior season, but still has can utilize his quick get off to create opportunities to gain first downs on short and intermeidate routes. Projection wise, I liked what I saw out of him as a defensive end in the live reps from Minnesota-Morris.

Windom Area’s Lane Caldwell Lane Caldwell MN has been an overlooked prospect coming out of an overlooked 3A team, but he flashes some intriguing potential that could garner a late recruiting push entering his senior campaign. Caldwell flashes solid athleticism, posting a 4.78 40 yard time and a 29″ vertical jump. Caldwell has a quick first-step, often beating his opponents off the snap, and he’s explosive at the point of attack, which was evident with his performance on defense last season, flashing big-play potential on the Edge. Caldwell will be a dark-horse name to keep an eye on through the 2026 season.
