Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs 2026 Season Preview

My colleagues have done a great job in previewing schools across North Carolina, and I will start previews with key players on schools within the Charlotte Metro Area. Previewing schools in the Charlotte Area can always be tricky in the new transfer era that we are in now, so if we preview a player who may have switched schools after a preview is completed, please forgive us.   The Jay M. Robinson Bulldogs are coming off of a strong season that saw them advance to the 4th Round of the State Playoffs, and they have become a program known for double-digit winning seasons and deep playoff runs under the leadership of Head Coach Jason Seidel. I think they are the best team in Cabarrus County, and they have the players to make another deep run in the 5A State Playoffs and challenge for a State Championship. Let's take a look at some of these talented prospects on the Bulldogs' roster this upcoming season.    Aury had an excellent season last year with over 2500 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, PLUS over 1000 rushing yards, and 9 rushing touchdowns. I think he's one of the most underrated Class of 2027 players in North Carolina. That is some incredible production, and that came with playing through an injury in the middle of the season. Aury has some offers and interest and is in line to have his biggest season as a senior. He's a great young man by all accounts, and I'm excited to see his leadership and talent take the Bulldogs far once again in 2027.     Ennis looks to move into a primary role as a ball carrier on offense with the graduation of a very talented running back. In limited carries last season (44), Ennis averaged 13.5 yards per carry and rushed for 7 touchdowns. If that doesn't speak to the talent this young man has, take a look at what he did on defense at the linebacker position on top of that offensive production. 106 total tackles with 17 tackles for loss. Impressive. Ennis has several college offers and figures to have another big season of production coming up for the Bulldogs.     There is some opportunity in the receiver room for the Bulldogs for a breakout player, and Jamere has the talent to capitalize on the opportunity. I saw Jamere up close at the CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase back in May, and he's got some excellent speed and agility for the Wide Receiver position. I really like the focus and attention he puts into running his routes, and he's got reliable and consistent hands catching the football. I'd be surprised if, at the very least, he wasn't a contributor in the passing game for the Bulldogs this season.     As I've written about Landen before, he's one of the best defensive line prospects in his class in North Carolina. His strength and get-off that he's shown since being a freshman varsity player have been consistently impressive. With another offseason, I'm excited to see how much more explosive he can be as a defender. Landen is a good blocker when used on offense also, and with Robinson having some EDGE players who can be difference makers, expect Landen to be a defensive headache for opposing offenses who try to figure out how to block him and where he lines up on defense consistently.     Once I saw Duke picked up a couple of early offers from Division 1 schools, I started to research him early this offseason. Duke is a really impressive athlete, and I got a chance to see him up close at the CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase this May. And based on what I saw, Duke is lined up to have a breakout season for the Bulldogs this year. I love his length and burst when he comes off the football as a pass rusher. Duke uses his hands well and has a couple of good moves to tie with his hand usage to disengage offensive linemen attempting to block him. If he gets off to a strong start this year, more offers coming his way wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.     Isaiah is a player I came away supremely impressed with in a loss - the opening-season loss Robinson had against Myers Park last year. Even with the Bulldogs down on the scoreboard, Isaiah kept playing extremely hard and encouraging his teammates. As a sophomore, that showed me a lot. And that was a precursor to a special season - at his linebacker spot, Isaiah had 134 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks. Isaiah is a major collegiate football recruit, and it will be fun to watch him have another big season leading the Bulldogs' defense this year.     Coming over from Northwest Cabarrus High School, Dom is a special player. As a freshman last season, Dom made some big game-impacting plays as a defensive back, earning All-Conference honors and showing some excellent athleticism and speed, especially for such a young player. We have him ranked highly here at Prep Redzone North Carolina for those reasons. It's VERY rare to see an All-Conference freshman as it is, but especially as a defensive back. College football programs have recognized that as well, as Dom has offers and interest already early in his career. Dom should definitely be an impact player for the Bulldogs this season as well.     You may not know Joshua, but you should definitely know he's an important returning piece of a good Bulldogs defense this season. Last year, Joshua had 65 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks. Joshua shows that he can play either on-ball or off-ball linebacker, and that's an important versatility trait college football programs look for in EDGE players, especially. Speaking of college football, Joshua has picked up some offers from multiple programs, and that interest will only increase with a strong start to the upcoming season.
