Western Michigan 7v7 Shootout Standout Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Western Michigan University hosted their summer 7 on 7 competition with many good high schools in attendance. We saw it all, interceptions, great dimes, one handed catches and underdogs that won the championship! Through it all one group of prospects really showed up and showed out! With that being said he has already taken a big leap in his game since then. I consider [player_tooltip player_id='1157443' first='Tyden' last='Schuch'] a "Slot Receiver Supreme", he would have my vote for overall MVP of the tournament!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Great footwork and technique at the line of scrimmage and downfield: I've rarely ever seen Tyden jammed and not be able to get off of it, mid route he is good at avoiding defenders and getting to his spots, mechanically sound, gets in and out of breaks easily, master at creating separation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Wonderful football IQ: Does a great job of manipulating coverages and defenders with his movement and body control.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Go getter: Tyden doesn't give up on plays and attacks the ball in the air at all times whether it's under or overthrown, has very solid reliable hands, body catches when needs to.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2141789' first='Jayden' last='Mancini']-27 LB Romeo HS</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":2229487,"width":"182px","height":"auto","sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none","align":"center"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/06/IMG_6155-rotated.jpeg?w=768" alt="" class="wp-image-2229487" style="width:182px;height:auto" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I am no stranger to Romeo HS and what they bring to the gridiron, I am new to [player_tooltip player_id='2141789' first='Jayden' last='Mancini'] as a prospect and I am glad I got to lay my eyes on him. For a MLB, most of their job has to do with plugging gaps and stopping the run. Mancini showed a little bit of what he can do out in space!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Great communicator: Set defense and made important calls when needed pre snap, communicated mid play to help teammates pick up any free runners, almost like a QB on defense</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Good overall IQ: Head always on a swivel, didn't see him drift too much out of zones, didn't bite too much on underneath routes and vacate his area, matched free runners in his area late on the throw clock</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Good overall playmaker: Was able to step in front of a pass and come away with an interception, multiple pass breakups that I saw</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='1626833' first='Oween' last='Sudduth']-28 QB Romulus Summit Academy</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This 7v7 was my first introduction to the standout underclassmen and I'll just say I like what I saw! I believe the 6'4 Quarterback had a stock raising day after leading his team to the championship game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":2229490,"width":"183px","height":"auto","aspectRatio":"0.7500149476831092","sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none","align":"center"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/06/IMG_6156-rotated.jpeg?w=768" alt="" class="wp-image-2229490" style="aspect-ratio:0.7500149476831092;width:183px;height:auto" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Good decision maker: Pre and post snap reads, didn't fall for the fool's gold defenses threw at him, played within his offensive scheme and gameplan </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Overall Playmaker: Was able to extend plays within the play clock, ability to throw receivers open in certain spots, on one play I saw him throw a touchdown without the laces!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Good leader: Great communicator, "coach on the field" type of player helping teammates get in correct spots, motivator and leader by example</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Carlton Williams Jr.-28 S North Muskegon HS</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Williams is coming off a successful varsity football season after he started as just a sophomore. He played a big role defensively in his North Muskegon team winning the championship game!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"id":2229492,"width":"188px","height":"auto","aspectRatio":"0.7500284446467175","sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none","align":"center"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2026/06/IMG_6158-rotated.jpeg?w=768" alt="" class="wp-image-2229492" style="aspect-ratio:0.7500284446467175;width:188px;height:auto" /></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Good mechanics and overall technique: Very fluid in his backpedal with no wasted movement, good lateral weave to keep leverage, does not panic with receiver sprinting towards him, stays square.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Ballhawk: Great eyes, attacks ball at high point like receiver, continues to play through hands upon any contact, seen him drive on the ball for interception and multiple pass breakups.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>-Good overall IQ: Always seemed to be in the right spot at the right time, did a good job communicating mid play and passing off underneath routes, good range from half field to sideline.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Vince Gergely-28 QB Romeo HS</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gergely looks to be a dynamic QB heading into his junior season.
