UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp: 2028 and 2029 DL Front Line Dominators

There was a plethora of talent across the defensive trenches that we will talk about, but we'll start off with 2029 and 2029s that cauht my attention at the UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp. This group of Front Line Dominators has a sound balance of MN and WI prospects!    Connor might have been one of the more undersized defensive linemen in attendance and also one of the youngest, but there were certainlyin some positive skillsets that he showed at the UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp that caught out our attention. The Eau Claire North edge rusher was more physical against the hog mollies than you might have expected to see with his size especially with the leverage he was able to generate. He appeared not to be phased by the bigger competion which as a 2029 prospect, has plenty of time to grow but is off to a good start in his first live eval during camp season.     Back to back nights, we've found a Stewartville athlete in our notebook, as a 2028 that intrigued out of Stewie at the UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp was Ryan Erie. The 6'2 240 pounder showed off some length with over a 6'4 wingspan in which tells me the upside is brewing, despite not having much tape out there. Ryan was one that showed off a consistent high motor in the reps I got to watch on Tuesday in Eau Claire. He showed off the grueling type physicality you want to see out of a underclassmen on every rep. Surely a new name to know in the 2028 class for the Tigers.   <a href="https://x.com/Ryanerie2028" id="https://x.com/Ryanerie2028">TWITTER</a>     Dashaun might be a hybrid type LB/EDGE right now, but the reps he showed off the competitive edge from a tweener-type prospect. His hand strength was more forceful than you might have expected at his size as what he showed me in a few reps I watched that he could get downhill on bigger offensive linemen with his low center of gravity. He showed off more twitch with his off hands than what you saw after his sophomore season ended, which is a good sign rolling into the heart of summer camp season.     Another Outstater that hit my radar in the live evals at the UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp in the 2028 class, was Mankato West's [player_tooltip player_id='2228936' first='Darren' last='Hoppe']. The nearly 6'0 235 pounder for the Scarlets, was a quickly noted contact seeker in the reps we got to watch that showed blue-collar type hands in the 1v1 reps I watched chomping at the bit into the backfield. He's one that the more reps I watched, the more quick growth you could see out of Darren with his coachability. Light on the tape as well, but one that the live eval helped elevate his game and stock via the live eval.     My PRZ collegue Mark Johnson called Kellen "disruptive" in a recent write up on Wisconsin defensive linemen just two weeks ago and lets just say that was the perfect word I would describe Kellen's efforts at the UWEC Big Man MEGA Camp. Amongst the defensive line group the 6'1 230 pound from right up the road at Eau Claire Regis, Kellen was in my top-tier for the most overwhelming hands in the live eval of the 2028s I got to watch. He was one of the more well-rounded 2028s that I got to watch in Eau Claire that will also show you on tape, has great short-area vision as a run-stopper.
