One player who has the best traits when it comes to being a ball hawk in the state of Louisiana is upcoming senior athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2094262' first='Jerzyion' last='Levingston']. Levingston is a top player when it comes to the talent pool and is hands down the best player on the Homer High School team when it comes to bringing in interceptions, as he was phenomenal for the program a season ago. He finished last season with a total of six interceptions, which was good enough to tie at the top among all class of 2027 prospects. He has a lengthy frame and will only improve as an overall prospect, although it would come as no shock if he isn't tested as frequently in coverage this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1632323' first='Kaston' last='Lewis'] is a two-way star who could find himself playing either position in college, although his future is the brightest when it comes to being a defensive back. With a huge fame, great speed, and obviously outstanding hands, Lewis is easily the best player in Iowa High School, and is the best player in the country in many people's opinion. After a plethora of different quarterbacks tried and failed, it became obvious that he isn't the player you would want to test when it comes to throwing a ball in some crowded coverage. Lewis is a takeaway machine, but don't let the bait coverage fool you, as his coverage grade is through the roof as a whole.

There is a reason that many state that [player_tooltip player_id='2231277' first='Terrius' last='Lemons'] is the best player from the state of Louisiana in the class of 20-29, as in 2025, he was easily the most efficient defensive freshman in the state, and one of the better high school players in the country as a freshman. He finished with a total of five interceptions, which lands him on this list as one of the few players with this elite stat line. Lemons is only getting better on his coverage, as there were plenty of situations that his speed allowed him to make a play, but this season it is safe to say that he won't be targeted nearly as much, especially if the gunslingers he plays against decide to do their homework.

There are plenty of players in high school who have what it takes to be a two-way player, but for a player like Payton is a player who not only plays both ways, but he also dominates the competition as a whole. Payton finished with five interceptions, but was great on the offensive side of the ball when he played, which makes him one of the more unique players on this list in specific. He finished last season as one of the bright spots of his high school program, and he is one of the players with the biggest chance to break through, even though he hit a new gear just one season ago. He is of a smaller frame, but that will improve, which will only make him more dangerous for the 2026 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2234582' first='Jabari' last='Levingston'] is one of the players in the state of Louisiana who has just done everything the right way. He is an excellent frame and has a great track record when it comes to the stats that he has put up, but he is only going to get better in this next season, as the IQ he plays with is nearly unmatched. He is willing to give a yard to bait a pass out of a quarterback, because he knows he has the speed and the range to bring the ball in, which was a major part of the success that he has had throughout 2025. This Louisiana athlete will only get better as time goes on and is set for a tremendous season with Lincoln Prep School.
