An X-receiver with a big, tall body at 6-foot-3 and 195-pounds, [player_tooltip player_id='1871188' first='Ryan' last='Block'] uses long, lumbering strides and vision as a returner, while also showing off ball-skills as a pass-catcher.

With that size and contact balance to his advantage, as well, Block is a threat after the catch and in the open field as a returner, too. If he grabs a pass in one-on-one coverage with a smaller corner, he's going to have a chance to make a big play and score.

The leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last season for the Lancers, Block has a chance to put up even bigger numbers for his potentially Cedar Falls-bound team this fall.

A state champion quarterback of whom I have previously considered as possessing a college-ready frame, [player_tooltip player_id='2048882' first='Eli' last='Harpenau'] spready it all over the field for MMCRU last fall. The exact type of quarterback the Royals needed with so many top-tier athletes all over the field, Harpenau stepped in and slung the rock deep, over the middle of the field, to the sideline, and more.

Also a mobile QB, Harpenau used his big, veteran offensive line to his advantage, not only staying upright, but manuevering in the backfield, keeping his eyes down field and looking for a target to find on the run. A trusting passer that was willing to throw it up and let his receivers go get it, Harpenau builds chemistry with his pass-catchers that allows the offense to make plays.

The leading tackler for Cherokee Washington, [player_tooltip player_id='1907889' first='Mallon' last='Malausky'] was one of the primary reasons for one of the most successful seasons in recent memory for the Braves. Malausky finished second on his squad in tackles, just behind Air Force commit, Jaxon Paulsrud.

Holding down the middle linebacker position, Malausky brought a no-fear, back down from no one attitude that resulted in a season where he posted just shy of 90 tackles, and nine tackles-for-loss (TFLs). He may not be the biggest, fastest or most athletic prospect, but Malausky is the type of player that will pop a guard in the mouth, shirk the block and make the tackle at or behind the line of scrimmage. Adding a player like the native northwest Iowan to the roster at Morningside would be a culture plus, and it would mean bringing in the type of guy that just finds a way onto the field.

Another critical piece for a small, but successful Iowa program, [player_tooltip player_id='1358154' first='Layne' last='Peska'] was a Mr. DoItAll type for Iowa Valley during his junior campaign.

On offense, Peska completed a few passes, ran the ball and grabbed a few catches, along with returning the occasional punt or kick to put together 696 all-purpose yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Defensively, he finished the year as the Tigers' second-leading tackler, posting 46.5 tackles, six TFLs and four picks.

Without a specific position at the high school level, Peska is the type of prospect that a program should bring in and figure out what he'll play later. Whether it's outside linebacker, tight end, or something else, Peska has a knack for making plays wherever the Tigers put him.

A quick safety that can use his speed to close in on the ball from the secondary, Eli Wiebers takes great angles in the run game and is a surprisingly good open-field tackler for his size. His speed allows him to get enough momentum to chase down ball-carriers and wrap them up to avoid a big play.

With the ball in the air, Wiebers can put his foot in the ground and reverse course to swat down passes or close in on a receiver in front of him and snag a pick or post a PBU. With plenty of room to fill out in his frame, Wiebers has potential at the safety spot, should he end up at a place like Morningside.
