The leading tackler for Cherokee Washington, Mallon Malausky Mallon Malausky 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB Cherokee Washington | 2027 IA was one of the primary reasons for one of the most successful seasons in recent memory for the Braves. Malausky finished second on his squad in tackles, just behind Air Force commit, Jaxon Paulsrud.

Holding down the middle linebacker position, Malausky brought a no-fear, back down from no one attitude that resulted in a season where he posted just shy of 90 tackles, and nine tackles-for-loss (TFLs). He may not be the biggest, fastest or most athletic prospect, but Malausky is the type of player that will pop a guard in the mouth, shirk the block and make the tackle at or behind the line of scrimmage. Adding a player like the native northwest Iowan to the roster at Morningside would be a culture plus, and it would mean bringing in the type of guy that just finds a way onto the field.

Malausky’s stock was in a good place coming off of a sophomore season that saw him produce 57.0 tackles, 30 of which were of the solo variety. He added a 6.0 tackles for loss and a sack in earning first-team all-district laurels. Malausky has managed to raise that stock during his first four games of 2025. He’d already accumulated 38.0 tackles (21 solo, 2.5 TFL). Malausky hasn’t posted any video highlights from this season but has a full sophomore reel on his Hudl page. On it, we witness a physical presence in the middle of the second level. Malausky moves well laterally and can run down ball carriers. He does well diagnosing plays pre-snap and reacting quickly to the play as it unfolds.
