James proved disruptive on the defensive front as a Cherokee sophomore in 2025. He finished the campaign with 18.5 tackles, 10 of which were of the solo variety, and accumulated 7.5 tackles for loss and a trio of sacks. James also flashes potential as an offensive lineman, earning all-district honors there last fall. He has a chance to develop into a next-level player on both sides of the ball, as we can witness on his 10th-grade highlight video. James looks well-rounded playing right offensive tackle. He gets off of the snap quickly and locks up the opponent with violent hands and excellent balance. The feet are quick and smooth, which helps lead to success in pass protection. James shows power in run blocking with a projectable frame capable of adding more without the loss of present agility and athleticism. James is a high-ceiling prospect and one to watch moving forward.
