Five 2030 QB Prospects to Know in Tennessee

With each new offseason comes a new wave of talent at the high school level with the arrival of a potential-filled rising freshman group.   As the state keeps investing more and more into youth development, the young talent in the state of Tennessee has become exponentially better at an earlier stage as the state began to see with the impact that 2029 class immediately made last season.   In a strong group of rising freshman quarterbacks, these five 2030 prospects will be players to know as they look to start within the next two seasons.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1546805' first='Cade' last='Boldin'] — Waverly Central High School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1546805' first='Cade' last='Boldin'] is a young quarterback prospect with good size, arm talent and athleticism for his age.   At 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, he hold a well-built frame that helps him establish a strong base and deliver the football with consistent velocity and accuracy. He is an accurate thrower that can fit the ball into tight windows already due to his arm strength and conviction.   While he is a strong athlete, he can step up in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield instead of immediately bailing.   Speaking of the athleticism, he is an excellent runner with legit speed that can make explosive plays happen as both a designed runner and scrambler.   He has a well-rounded skillset that can immediately make an impact at the high school level as he learns how to read a faster and more complex game at the high school level. He is currently undersized with a slender frame, but that has not affected his arm talent, consistently attacking downfield and generating explosive passing plays already at the middle school level.   His arm talent allows for him to make any throw asked from him, something that will only continue to become a strength as he keeps growing.   He is an explosive athlete that shows up in a variety of ways: generating velocity on throws, running on the field and running track.   He is noticeably ahead in the mental aspect compared to his age group as he makes 7v7 settings light work with his ability to look off defenders and fit throws into any window.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He will sit as a freshman at 6A power Oakland before having the opportunity to work into the rotation at quarterback as a sophomore.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 QB [player_tooltip player_id='2220104' first='Dominic' last='Rocconi'] — Collierville High School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2220104' first='Dominic' last='Rocconi'] is an exciting young quarterback prospect with all the right tools and intangibles to becoming a Division One recruit down the line.   He has a solid frame for his age and it helps him deliver the ball with good velocity as he attacks most levels of the field right now. When working in the intermediate, he delivers quick strikes to his targets that allows them to catch and run in stride.   He is the son of former Memphis player and current Collierville head football coach Joe Rocconi. The mental edge has translated to the field as he throws with good anticipation and has a baseline understanding of when and how to hold second level defenders to maintain passing windows.   While not a premier athlete, he has enough athleticism to be a reliable scrambler and even played safety at the middle school level.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He will develop his body and game for the physicality and speed of the game at the high school level while serving as the primary backup to Iowa commit [player_tooltip player_id='905003' first='Brayden' last='Santibanez'] before taking over in the 2027 season.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1307092' first='John' last='Slagle'] — Goodpasture Christian School</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1307092' first='John' last='Slagle'] is a young quarterback with exciting long-term potential with the coaching to make an immediate impact at the position.   He has clean mechanics and efficiently gets the ball out to his open receivers. That includes throwing from off-platform situations, where he already shows a strong ability to deliver.   He shows good touch on passes downfield and lets his receivers run under the ball, creating a lot of explosive plays at the middle school level.   He could use a year of working with the strength staff at the high school level to take the next step with his velocity as he tends to loft throws downfield and can wait to deliver throws over the middle of the field.   As he improves in that category, he is going to be a well-coached quarterback with a complete skillset that signals Division One potential, already beginning to earn offers during summer camps.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He will be the primary backup this season as he adjusts to the high school level before taking over during the 2027 season.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 QB [player_tooltip player_id='2112089' first='Marshall' last='Manning'] — Baylor High School</h2>    While the 2030 class will present a lot of newness to the public eye, one name that has had the attention on him during his entire life is Baylor High School quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2112089' first='Marshall' last='Manning'].   As the son of a legendary NFL quarterback (Peyton Manning), he has had to deal with more pressure than the normal young quarterback which should only help his composure early on as he keeps building his comfortability at Baylor.   From a physical standpoint right now, he is undersized, but he has a strong frame that he has begun to fill out and create a strong base. With being the son of a 6-foot-5 quarterback, the growth spurt should be expected to take place in a loud way eventually. On the field, he keeps developing at a fast rate which bodes well as he continues to receive top coaching from the staff at Baylor, QB Country and his father.   He makes it a point to step up in the pocket to deliver throws to his surrounding playmakers instead of scrambling around like most young signal callers. He showed in Prep Redzone 7-on-7 tournaments that he can push the ball down the field and hit in-breaking routes. As he keeps growing, he will add more raw arm strength and that will bring out the underlying talent.   EXPECTED ROLE IN 2026: He will be the top backup for Baylor this season before taking over in 2027 for Ole Miss commit [player_tooltip player_id='939950' first='Keegan' last='Croucher'].
