On June 27th, I attended the Crown College football camp in St. Bonafacius, MN. The camp brought in over 80 prospects in a more limited, but tight-knit group of intriguing names not just from MN, but spanning a wide stretch across the country, reeling in prospects from Georgia, Arizona, and Colorado for example that have garnered attention from this coaching staff. Among this group, there was a limited amount of QB prospects that were throwing the ball, but a strong majority of these prospects stood out brightly. We take a look at 6 QB prospects from the Crown College football camp on Saturday that stood out the most!

The most prevalent QB name by far, [player_tooltip player_id='1659065' first='Jude' last='Houglum'] was my pick for the top overall QB standout from the Crown camp on Saturday. Houglum excelled at nearly every area during the Indy and 1-on-1 sessions, showcasing the most refined mechanics among the QB group that showed up. Houglum maintains steady control while flipping his hips, is refined with his 3-step drop, and does a good job stepping into his throws, flashing his strength continuously with some pretty, long-arcing throws while being accurate outside of the boundary. With such a standout performance, it was only natural that Houglum received his first offer to play at Crown shortly after the camp, which has been one of his top schools of target over the last few months.

I covered [player_tooltip player_id='1652586' first='Jackson' last='Mastel'] earlier this offseason at the SJU camp, and it wasn't a surprise watching him finish as one of the top QB performers once again in front of the coaches for Crown. Mastel is a natural in the pocket, standing tall and commanding his receivers with great leadership. Mastel flashed many of the mechanics that helped him stand out at SJU, including a strong release with the flick of the wrist, a powerful arm, and fluid accuracy both inside and outside the perimeter. In the end, much like with Houglum, Mastel ultimately received an offer from Crown to play with them going forward. Mastel has been a standout at the camps he's attended so far this offseason. There's no doubt about his potential to excel at the next level, and I'm excited to see how he'll perform for Rogers in 2026.

Not just a QB from out of state, but also one that was an unknown in our database prior to his showing on Saturday, Cohen Ostola should certainly emerge as a much more worthy prospect going forward. Ostola posted a flat 5 second 40 yard time at first before improving with a 4.95 time on the second go-around. Ostola flashed solid mechanics throughout the Indy and 1-on-1 sessions, with a quick release, strong spiral, and great accuracy in hitting his WRs squarely in their chest, flashing greatly as a short-medium range passer. I was impressed by the junior's performance on Saturday, and he's certainly an underrated prospect in Michigan worth watching going forward.

An oncoming sophomore QB who plays just 20 minutes southeast of Crown, [player_tooltip player_id='2236795' first='Nolan' last='Pease'] had been garnering some attention this offseason for his standout performances with the 612Qs academy, but he really turned heads with his performance in front of the Polars' coaching staff on Saturday. Pease flashed great mechanics for his age, showcasing a strong arm and great release, but most evidently was his sharp accuracy throwing outside the perimeter, nailing his out/corner route throws consistently with great timing and velocity on the throws. Pease is already showcasing impressive growth at the position, and it is only a matter of time before we see him emerge as one of the top QB names in MN going forward.

Likely, it won't be until 2027 when [player_tooltip player_id='2236797' first='Emmett' last='Rushmeyer'] emerges as the starter under Center for the Huskies playing behind Cohen Habben, but he's shown plenty of promise that his eventual shift into the starting lineup should be smooth with how much he's flashed this offseason. Rushmeyer has a natural presence under Center as a tall, poised leader who flashes a strong arm and nice touch on his passes, being able to hit several deep passes with ease throughout the session on Saturday. His stance looks a bit awkward as he leans sort of back as he makes his throws, but is able to hit his receivers with sharp accuracy and push the ball consistently down field with ease. As Rushmeyer continues to improve this offseason, it will be intriguing to see what's in store for him when he eventually takes over as the varsity starter.

Rounding off this list out of state was a promising upperclassman from Colorado Springs in Fisher Tempas, who despite some rough patches early on made significant improvement as the camp went on and won me over with his ability. That has been his motto as a QB who's competitive and constantly improving on his game, and that showed itself well on Saturday, flashing great accuracy at all three levels of the secondary with a clean release and natural deep-ball ability. A strong leader for the Lions who threw for over 2000 yards and 23 TDs last season while guiding the team to a 6-4 record, Tenpas should very soon earn his first offer to play at the next level with how he's been performing.
