2028 Rankings Risers

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">In-depth evaluations of the 2028 prospects rising up the PRZ state rankings. </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Powell moved up four overall spots to #8 overall. He checks all the boxes of major D1 caliber TE with his projectable 6'5” 235 lb. frame and natural movement skills as a pass catcher. He's continued to grow and add good weight adding nearly 30 pounds in the last year while maintaining mobility and speed. Can attack and create separation at three levels and knows how to establish positional leverage at the catch point using his size. Colleges love the hybrid TE and basketball player and Powell fits that bill perfectly. Prototype frame at 6'3” 175 lbs. with the speed, body control, and catch radius to match. Runs well and can drop his hip level at the top of the route to change directions while accelerating out with good burst. Jumps 10 spots to #10 overall and is now the top ranked 2028 WR in the state. Consistently creates explosive plays by tracking the ball naturally, winning at the catch point, and closing space quickly on defense. His playmaking ability, instincts, and speed easily transition to either side of the ball at the major D1 level. Hasn't seen a ton of game action due to transfer rules but expect him to be a top tier impact player entering his junior year. He's a forceful defender at 6'2” 195 lbs. with outstanding speed and burst to close. Shows natural movement skills to redirect to the ball and work laterally in pursuit. Violent at the contact point he runs his feet at the POA and finishes through initial contact. Demonstrates a high motor, scheme versatility, and the defensive mindset to be a D1 caliber prospect. He's a high caliber route runner that creates separation with a hard drive phase, sudden cuts, and the ability to fight through contact while maintaining his line. Demonstrates natural ball skills and strong hands at the catch point with the radius to extend outside his frame. Great concentration, body control, and ability to create leverage to play the ball in traffic. Outstanding upside with high expectations after transferring to Basha.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Young's recruitment has been building this spring adding five new D1 offers from New Mexico State, Montana State, Arizona, and most recently Fresno State. Great physical profile for a corner at 6'1” 190 lbs. with the length (80 inch wingspan) and natural coverage instincts to cover a wide route tree. Shows he can be effective in both press and off coverage being physical with good hand usage to disrupt receiver's timing and routes. Flashes fluid change of direction and the start/stop speed to match movement and stay in phase at all three levels. Demonstrates efficient footwork with a smooth and well-timed transition to stay over the top of vertical routes.
