Best Offensive Linemen - CFI Mega Showcase

Charlotte Football Insiders (CFI) hosted over 230 players this past Saturday at Ballantyne Ridge High School in Charlotte, NC. Players at all positions played well, and as of this article, 13 players have received offers!   In this article we will start getting into our positional breakdowns, starting with my favorite - the offensive line! This group had big and strong prospects that moved well throughout all facets of the showcase.    Our Offensive Line MVP, we wrote about his showcase performance in the MVP article, so we'll talk about his offseason improvement. I had some Mallard Creek people tell me Cleveland has worked extremely hard this offseason in the weight room and doing some offensive line skill training. Those efforts have paid off with much better footwork and strength, and he's picked up offers from Elizabeth City State and Concord University, and I think it's a safe bet he will have more coming his way ahead of his senior season.     Jaydin came into this showcase with a major chip on his shoulder, believing he deserved more recognition as a top offensive lineman in the area. I've always been impressed with Jaydin as a run blocker, but he has made exponential improvement as a pass protector. Jaydin moved his feet well and fitted his hands well against interior defensive linemen in their pass rush. Not only was Jaydin named a top offensive lineman, but he received his first offer from Concord University also! Excited to see how he builds from this going into the summer camp season.     Landon was named a top performer, and seeing him up close, I think he may have grown physically from the 6'3 that we have him listed as on his player profile. Landon has also been hot on the recruiting trail, picking up recent offers from Lenoir-Rhyne, Pembroke, and East Tennessee State. This is just the beginning for Landon, and on Saturday he showed excellent footwork, long arms, and a physical frame with a lot to grow on in a college program. I'm excited to see what the summer holds in store for him.     This long and athletic prospect made the over 5 hour drive down to Charlotte from West Virginia, and it was a trip that was very worthwhile for him. I did a short interview with him, and he told me his strength was pass protection, and he showed that consistently throughout the 1 on 1 period against defensive linemen. Tyson is definitely every bit of the 6'5 he's listed at, and he's got very long arms he uses well to keep edge players from getting into his body at his tackle position. I also like his footwork, as he was able to stay in front of some fast kids pass rushing off of the edge. As I write this, Tyson was offered by UNC Pembroke from seeing him at the MEGA Showcase!     I was very excited to see Cayman up close, and he's built like you would expect an offensive lineman to be from the mountains - big and tough. But, Cayman moves very well for his size, and that's where I really liked him, going through the agility circuit in the beginning of the showcase. Cayman backed that up with strong performances in the individual period and then in both sessions of the 1 on 1's against defensive linemen. It's only a matter of time before college coaches start to knock on Cayman's door with some offers to play at their respective schools.     Aiden really impressed me with how agile and nimble he was at his size, which was verified seeing him up close in the 1 on 1 period against defensive linemen. I loved his footwork in his pass sets, and he didn't give ground easily against some good interior linemen from his guard position. He will be an important piece of a new look Chambers offense this upcoming season.     I like the fact that Erwil works hard at his craft. I could tell he definitely has had some good coaching by the techniques he exuded in his pass protection reps in 1 on 1's. His footwork was strong, and he did not give up the short corner going against defensive ends very easily. With two more years to go in his development as a player, I will be anxious to see if he can be an All-Conference player this upcoming season, because I think he's got the talent and the drive to do just that.
