[player_tooltip player_id='2134726' first='Franck' last='Atangana'] has arguably been the biggest stock riser since the beginning of the offseason, as he has been a top target for many different colleges and is one of the better defensive backs in the state of Georgia when it comes to the 2028 recruiting class. He is a two-year starter who will be back for the biggest season of his career thus far. I believe he will be a star this season, and he will be one to monitor on Friday nights. Keep an eye on Atangana, as he has the chance to be the next great from Dalton, Georgia, following behind some greats like Jahmyr Gibbs.

Many would consider Calhoun High School quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='409989' first='Trace' last='Hawkins'] the best in the state of Georgia, both in the class of 2028 and in general, as he is by far one of the better gunslingers in the state. Hawkins is a field general with the chance of being one of the best quarterbacks in college when he opts to commit to a program. He continues to show up at a high level and is one of the more intriguing players both in the state and in the area. He is one I am watching closely in 2026.

We are doubling down in this article with another Dalton Catamount, as this time it is from the gunslinger who runs the offense. Woods is by far one of the better talents in the state when it comes to the quarterback position, as he has some of the most upside out of any player. When Woods is at his best, he is the best player in the state of Georgia at the position, but will he do it again with a new offensive coordinator? This is something I am excited to see, as he is one of the best players the area has seen at the position in quite some time. He and Hawkins are representing the area very well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091376' first='Ezequiel' last='Carter'] is one who remains unranked at this moment, but that will change soon now that he is back for his second season following an injury that kept him on the sidelines. He is one of my favorite running backs in the whole state, and he is by far one of the more gifted players when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. Carter will both avoid tacklers and run right through them, as he is a well-rounded player. Carter's upside is through the roof, and soon, people will know his name by heart.

I continue to go to bat for [player_tooltip player_id='1870257' first='Kyle' last='Cummings'], who is one of the more gifted players in both the state and the area when it comes to the defensive back position. He finished the season with a great number of interceptions, and is a ball hawk for Coach Robinson, and he will be a captain in his final season with the Bruins. Cummings has one of the better verticals I have seen in this area and has the chance to be a star at the next level, regardless of whether it is at the wide receiver or cornerback position. Cummings is going to be a star.
