the best in the state of Georgia, both in the class of 2028 and in general, as he is by far one of the better gunslingers in the state. Hawkins is a field general with the chance of being one of the best quarterbacks in college when he opts to commit to a program. He continues to show up at a high level and is one of the more intriguing players both in the state and in the area. He is one I am watching closely in 2026.

the best player in the state of Georgia when it comes to the quarterback position in the class of 2028. The dual-threat prospect has been one of the better quarterbacks to ever come through the Calhoun High School football program, and is someone who has set the bar really high in north Georgia. With many outstanding quarterbacks in the state, it is important to watch and see if the talented gunslinger from Calhoun can hold on to his top spot. Make sure you keep tabs on Trace.

is another talent that I have covered since his middle school days and knew he had something special about him that was going to come about and obviously it did. He has a great ability and a great deal of talent He already has a state championship under his belt, and he led his team to that as a freshman. Though Hawkins has had tremendous seasons so far, I believe he is yet to have his greatest year, and I believe this season will be a historic kind of season for him.
Recruitment: Offers include, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Florida, Duke among others.

who has what most young quarterbacks do not yet have is a state championship. Hawkins is another signal caller I have covered since his middle school days. Hawkins goes into his freshman year and leads his team to the state championship game and leads them to a title victory. He has impressed for the past two years and though him and his team came up short of repeating, they look to get back in 2026. Hawkins has an all-around game and is one of the best in the state. As long as you have Hawkins leading the way, you can certainly win another. Big-time talent to follow this year.

is a state champion signal caller who won it all when he was leading his powerhouse Calhoun Yellow Jackets as a freshman. Hawkins is going to have a monster junior year and off-season. I have covered Hawkins since his middle school days and have seen all of the years he continues to develop and get better and better. He is going to have a major year in 2026.

One of my favorite QBs in the state of Georgia as a whole. This is because he is a leader at a very young age, and the game comes to him easily, as he is someone who has been able to lead his team all the way in the past. They will be tasked with attempting this again, and it is very possible, as their first-round matchup will tell you everything you need to know about Hawkins. Hawkins and the Calhoun squad will be against Lumpkin County. Calhoun has the chance to be one of the better teams in the state when it is all said and done, and a lot of thanks would be given to their star QB.

is someone I have covered since he was in Middle School, and nothing has changed with him. Hard working, humble and obviously talented. He’s been a hard worker since way before the offers and the state championship win as a starting quarterback. Obviously, he’s got a skillset that’s special but it’s the grind that sets him apart. Hawkins holds several D1 offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech and more.

An outstanding North Georgia quarterback who already holds early offers from Auburn and Georgia Tech, Hawkins is a multi-sport standout for the Calhoun Yellow Jackets who shined both through the air and on the ground as a freshman last season. The playmaking signal-caller threw for an impressive 2,079 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2024 while rushing for 352 yards and five more scores. He’s now the No. 1 QB and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state for the 2027 class.

A fantastic young freshman who played beyond his years last fall for a powerful Calhoun program, Hawkins looked like an experienced veteran as he threw for 2,079 Passing and 23 touchdown passes with just one INT. He also added 352 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground, showing the ability to make plays in different ways. He can create when things break down, can buy time in the pocket, and has enough arm strength to push the ball down the field. After an eye-opening first season, Hawkins has earned new offers this month from Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Duke. Look for his stock to continue to rise on the recruiting trail this spring.

Ranked as the No. 1 QB in Georgia for the 2028 class, Hawkins is a terrific young athlete with a promising arm and the ability to lead. Just a freshman, Hawkins led Calhoun to a state championship last year while making big plays with both his arm and his legs. He has no problem pushing the ball downfield and should see his recruitment take off down the road. This talented freshman threw for over 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 352 yards and five touchdowns. His play, and his stock, will only improve over the next few years.
