Expert Analysis
Caleb Sisk | Prep Redzone Scout
New offense, no problem for this gunslinger. Caine is repping a new number (7), but even with the new number, he is easy to spot among the quarterbacks. There is a reason he finished with the amount of yards he did in 2026, but he has the chance to run that back with a solid group of wide receivers returning. Woods will be closely watched by both reporters and colleges, as many would confirm that this is his most important season with the Catamounts. If things go as expected, everyone will know his name.

We are doubling down in this article with another Dalton Catamount, as this time it is from the gunslinger who runs the offense. Woods is by far one of the better talents in the state when it comes to the quarterback position, as he has some of the most upside out of any player. When Woods is at his best, he is the best player in the state of Georgia at the position, but will he do it again with a new offensive coordinator? This is something I am excited to see, as he is one of the best players the area has seen at the position in quite some time. He and Hawkins are representing the area very well.

. He is fresh off a massive season in the state of Georgia, and he made the most out of his situation in Dalton. He was one of the better quarterbacks when it came to his dual-threat ability, as he finished with the most yards in the state of Georgia. He was by far one of the more electric players in the state and will be a college quarterback one day. He is set for a massive season, and it will be intriguing to see play out with a new offensive coordinator in town.

One of the best of the best quarterbacks not only in Georgia but I’ll go ahead and say it because I know if you know football, you certainly know Woods is one of the best in the Nation regardless of classification and regardless of class.

is someone I have covered and written about since his middle school days and to see him develop and get better each year has been special. His ability to throw, avoid defenders and still keep his eyes down field and make the throw is special. His ability to run when things break down is just as special. He has an uncanny ability to do both and he’s going to have an unreal season heading into 2026. He performed great at our Showcase a couple of Months back and I’m excited to see him around this off-season before heading into the season. Keep eyes on Woods, I have been talking to coaches about him, and you can expect a lot of buzz coming his way sooner than later!

If you have kept up with my articles and evaluations, you know there isn’t anyone in the class of 2028 whom I have more belief in when it comes to the quarterback position in the nation. Woods has everything, and he showed that last season, which is why he led the state in passing yards. If you thought last season was a breakout, then just wait for the real breakout when the talented prospect plays against some of the better teams in the state of Georgia and dominates them in 2026. An athletic quarterback from North Georgia on the rise in the 2028 class,

is a promising passer who has no problem taking off and making big plays with his legs. He brings good size and does a nice job of eluding defenders in the open field. At 6’3, 195 pounds, Woods is certainly a dual threat quarterback with his best football ahead of him. Last season as a sophomore, Woods ran for an impressive 685 yards and 3 touchdowns, hitting the 100 yard mark on the ground 2 different times. He’s one of the top quarterbacks returning across North Georgia, who could rush for even more yards next season as a junior.

is one of the Peach States best young talents at the quarterback position. However, he’s one of the state’s best signal callers regardless of class. This comes to no surprise to me as I have covered Woods even in his middle school days. Woods has always worked to get better, and he’s always had that God-given talent to go along with his work ethic which is a big part of why he is already so successful. I have been telling people about Dalton, the talent and the coaching staff that is currently there and with the arrival of Head Coach Chris Prewett last year, there are great things to come in Catamount Country, I can assure that. On the gridiron, it all starts with

is a growing athlete who will be tested this season with a new offensive coordinator. He is someone I have watched play multiple times, and he is someone I believe will begin to see some progression despite maybe not having as many passing yards this season. Woods is a baller, and everyone will know his name soon enough, mark my words.

As I said previously, camp season is about answering questions, and I had plenty answered on Woods. From a traits perspective, pretty much everything I already suspected was confirmed on Woods. In fact, I think he actually looked and threw better than I thought. He too looks like he has filled out a lot, and his delivery looks tighter, and the ball jumps out of his hand better. Woods thrives when things break down, which can’t be showcased during the camp setting, so coaches need to pay close attention to his junior tape if they’re interested.

Woods is the first player to come to mind, as he is someone who will have the chance to make a name for himself yet again after coach Carlisle’s departure. Woods was the top signal caller, but the talented prospect will be tasked with doing that with a new OC yet again. This will be something worth paying attention to, as he is now going to push for another great season in Dalton red.
