*Use code Johnson30 for 30% off a new Prep Redzone subscription*

The spring and summer camp circuit is right around the corner! Things get started in WI with the Prep Redzone WI Showcase on May 17th, and I am excited to see who will be out to compete in Milwaukee. From there we have a slew of camps that athletes will be swarming to across WI and beyond. You can bet that I will be out there taking as much of it in as I can along with the rest of the Prep Redzone scouts across the Midwest and country.

This is such an exciting time. Football is the ultimate team sport, but these camps are a chance for athletes to come out and showcase themself. They get to show what they can do in front of scouts and coaches and do their best to earn those college opportunities. Looking towards those events I can't help but be excited for several specific athletes that I have a strong believe will stand out from the crowd and receive a massive wave of new attention and offers as the summer rolls along. Today we are going to breakdown those athletes and talk about why I am so confident in them. Coaches, these are the student- athletes I highly recommend you try to get to your camps or get to one that they will be at. Let's get into it!

Amir hit my radar early this offseason and the more I have come back to watch his highlights the more excited I get. The 2027 DB/QB was very productive both ways in 2025, but I believe his home at the college level will be at CB. I also believe that is where we will see him at camps. Every summer we always seem to have a group of CBs stand out from camp to camp. The more I get familiar with Amir's game the more I believe he will be in that group this summer.

Amir is a talented athlete. An athlete you can trust out on an island. This summer he is going to show that between the combine testings and the one on one battles. Amir has really good length on his 6'1" 170 lbs frame and that lets him be aggressive at the catch point and the line of scrimmage. On tape you see the examples of his closing/recovery speed. Seeing production at the CB position is also very reinforcing. Amir is coming off a 2025 season where he allowed ONE catch all season, had 13 PBUs, 4 INTs, and returned one for a pick six. Dive into the tape and do not miss out on a chance to watch Amir compete.

The Class of 2027 is one of the best OL groups to come out of the state in year. That means we have a ton of top tier talent and depth. One great example of that is Racine Case OL [player_tooltip player_id='1084834' first='Nathan' last='Wade']. The 2027 OL is set to be a three year varsity starter and has some outstanding tape to his name already. This summer is going to be huge for him as he further verifies his abilities in front of college staffs. At 6'3" 270 lbs Nathan is impressively smooth and athletic. Over and over you see him fly off the line and instantly turn that into power on contact with the DL. You also see the ability to get to level two and bury LBs. Wade is also light on his feet in pass protection where he can easily slide and change direction while mirroring edge rushers. As soon as he is set to make contact you see him flip that switch to set a powerful anchor and stonewall DEs/Edges. The tools are there to allow Nathan to put on a show this summer. He holds three offers already, but that is just the tip of the iceberg for what he could have by Week 1 this fall. Check him out!

Keegan is going to put on a show this summer and stand out among every QB group he is in action with. The 2027 QB looks the part to start at 6'3" 185 lbs. Once they start slinging it around the field it will quickly become apparent how well-coached and technically sound Keegan is. I love watching his feet on tape. The way he can slide, shuffle, and instantly reset and get the ball out and do it with consistent accuracy is a special trait. His accuracy to every level of the field is surgical and we are going to see him also verify the arm strength to effectively attack downfield at the next level. Get a glimpse of the talent by taking a look at his tape, linked below.

I am so excited to follow Eli's camp season and hope to get a chance to watch him compete in person. Eli is going to put on a show from the start of the combine to the final whistle of every event he is at. The 2027 dominates on tape with his outstanding speed, body control, burst, and quick twitch athleticism. It gives him the ability to thrive at WR and DB. I can't wait to see some verified athletic numbers for the 2027. The one on one battles should be a great showcase for him too because on top of the advantage that his athleticism gives him, Eli has natural hands and plays the ball in the air effortlessly. The camp circuit is the perfect stage for Eli to fully show off his best abilities.

Next up we have a dominant pure CB out of Catholic Memorial. Zy'aire is going to shine this summer. He is extremely twitchy with the reactive athleticism to be able to stick to his man through routes as if he knows what the play was. That athleticism allows him the chance to be aggressive at the line and get hands on because Smith has the speed to be able to recover very quickly. I love how aggressive the 2027 CB is at the catch too while also showing great timing as to not draw penalties. I am very confident that Zy'aire will be one of the best performing CBs this summer. Big things ahead for him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fP9eTU4Ua4

Tyvon Pate is going to be a monster this summer. He is putting together an amazing offseason. His performances in the weight room have rewritten the record books at Fond du Lac HS. These years of showing up are going to culminate in Ty proving that he is a matchup nightmare in the trenches. Turn on the tape and you will get a great sense of what is to come. While 6'2" 230 lbs isn't the most imposing DL frame, it is amazing watching Ty be able to fire out of his stance, get hands on, and flex his strength as he tosses big OL aside early in the play. He can also fire off the line with violence and collapse the pocket from the edge. That weight room strength has also aided his quickness and burst off the snap. Tap into the highlights. Things are starting to roll for him too as he just earned his first offer from Minot State.

I have high hopes for Max's 2026 camp cycle. The 6'2" 190 lbs WR has the size and abilities to develop into a future WR1 at the next level. That frame compared with a reported 4.5 40 should turn a lot of heads at any combine he attends, but the real fun will begin during 1 on 1s. Max's highlights show a kid that can win with pure speed whether it be the vertical passing game or jet sweeps to stretch the defense laterally. When he isn't winning with pure athletic traits, Max also has the ability to make DBs bite on his fakes and route running. Max's ability to track the ball and make the difficult concentration catches in traffic should also impress coaches this summer too. Watch the highlights below and make sure to try and see Max work in person.

After years of watching London dominate camps we have come to the last go-round. I can't wait to see the mismatch 2027 DL go out with a lot of summer camp wins under his belt. The 5'11" 245 lbs DL is lightning in a bottle. He comes off the line in a flash and can cut laterally while on his path without sacrificing speed or balance. His ability to bend, dip, and change pad level are excellent and make him a very difficult target for OL to get hands on and keep them on. London is going to be living behind the heels of OL all summer and fall. Don't miss out on this kid.

Jackson is coming off his first D1 offer from Drake University and that could be just the start if his summer goes how I think it could. Jackson is a very gifted athlete who can legitimately play out wide on either side of the football. The 2027 has a reported 4.5 40 and a 37.4" vertical. If he can consistently be in the neighborhood of those numbers at 6'2" 175 lbs then big things will be in store for him. It will be interesting to see if he competes more at WR, DB, or rotates between the two. That athleticism on offense is obviously a huge mismatch as DBs try to read and react while also keeping pace with him. On defense it gives the unit someone who can go out on an island and lock a WR down. Plus Jackson isn't afraid to come up and tackle too. The size, athleticism, and versatility should earn Jackson plenty of opportunities as the summer rolls along.
