Versatile Prospects Get 2028 Rankings Boost

We added hundreds of prospects to our rankings in Ohio last month for the Class of 2028. In our next article and multi-part series, we break down four new additions and will continue to do so throughout the months of February and March. These four early risers have a chance to become high-impact players in the fall and beyond.    [player_tooltip player_id='1637490' first='Braylan' last='Rufener'] is starting defensive tackle for Field High School. While we have limited tape on Rufener, he flashes good first-step quickness, a nose for the ball and is very strong against the run. Rufener can plug the middle effectively as a run defender, flashes twitch off the LOS and takes good pursuit angles. Keep an eye on him during college camps this fall.     [player_tooltip player_id='1720422' first='Brody' last='Tusai'] is a very good run-blocking tight end who can latch onto defenders and drive them off the ball. Tusai is a big-framed, 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect with high upside. He is a very athletic player as a three-sport athlete with big hands. His college fit could be inside at defensive tackle where he could use his size and speed to be formidable against the run. Tusai comes from a very athletic family.     [player_tooltip player_id='2128476' first='Braxton' last='Sloan'] is a strong two-way prospect from Girard High School. As a corner, the Class of 2028 prospect has great use-of-hands, times the ball effectively and breaks up passes. I think his college fit is more at receiver, where he has soft hands, can create on his own as a route runner, and is a legitimate threat on the perimeter. The multi-sport athlete is also a standout on the hardwood. Keep an eye on his potential during college camps.     KJ Briggs could be the most overlooked defensive lineman in this upcoming cycle. Briggs, a starter for St. John's Jesuit, is a quick and explosive interior defensive tackle who is nimble for his size and takes great angles to opposing quarterbacks. Briggs is a force against the run and a tremendous block shedder who flies to the ball. Stout against the run and also flashing good pass rush skills to wreck havoc on opposing quarterbacks, Briggs is a player opposing teams have to account for every down.
