Five New Northwest Ohio Additions To the 2028 Part 2

Today I take a look at five really talented players from Northwest Ohio. The northwest may not get the most buzz of all of the areas in the state, but they put out good football players too. The ground we cover will all strand from Hardin County all the way to Toledo. These are definitely players who you are going to want to know going to the 2026 season.    I had the opportunity to see Williams play both football and basketball live this fall and winter. He may not be the biggest player on the field, but he's dynamic. He lines up at slot receiver for the Spartans. He can stretch the field vertically, but where he truly thrives is getting the ball in space.   In the open field, he's twitchy and explosive in and out of his breaks. Williams' ability to juke and make defenders miss makes him a threat any time he touches the ball. In his route running, you can tell he understands leverage and has a high football IQ. He's definitely a player who could be utilized in gadget plays as well.   I'm really excited to see what the future holds for this talented player.     Anderson is a two-way player for the Archbold Blue Streaks. He plays H-back on offense, but I project him as an outside linebacker at the next level.   He's very instinctive off the snap and plays with excellent flow. He's smooth in the way he uses his athleticism and bend to beat blockers and make plays behind the line of scrimmage. In pursuit, he's able to kick it into another gear and run plays down from behind.   He's comfortable playing off the edge or shooting gaps between the tackles. Physically, Anderson has a solid frame with room to add good weight. I would expect him to start drawing Division I interest this offseason and during the upcoming contact period.     Cherry possesses a long frame with plenty of room to add good weight. He shows solid movement skills, successfully executing blocks at the second level and demonstrating the ability to get out and pull. He has quick feet and plays with good balance.   If he can improve his punch and become more violent with his hands, he has a real chance to take his game to the next level. You see flashes of a dominant finisher, and developing that punch will help put defenders on their heels. From there, he'll be able to finish more consistently and with greater authority.   With his size and athleticism, if Michael continues his physical development, he has a chance to position himself for opportunities at the next level.     McFarlin is an old-school football player. He's a versatile receiver who's extremely effective in both the pass and run games.   In the passing game, he lines up in the slot and is really slippery. He's a fluid athlete who can flip his hips and change direction with ease, creating natural separation. McFarlin is strong at the catch point and does a great job of securing the ball through contact.   In the run game, he's a physical blocker who's not just looking to shield defenders — he's looking to put them on their back. McFarlin may not be flashy, but he's a player you can consistently count on to get the job done.   I'm very interested to see what he puts on film this fall.     Roscoe is a talented ATH at Toledo Central Catholic Fighting Irish.   On defense, he's a rangy safety who can cover a ton of ground in a hurry. He takes strong angles to the football and delivers big hits — receivers definitely need to keep their head on a swivel when he's in the area.   As strong as he is defensively, I believe he may have even more upside on offense at running back. De'Quane is an explosive runner who gets to top speed quickly. He has a sharp jump cut that's lethal in the open field. He runs with strength between the tackles but also has the speed to bounce it outside and create chunk plays.   Though Roscoe has had to wait his turn, I'm excited to see what he puts on film this fall for the Irish.
