Stillwater wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1214367' first='David' last='Thomas'] continues to have a stranglehold on the top spot at the wide receiver position. But this could be the last time we have Thomas ranked in the Oklahoma 2028 class rankings. We have heard that Thomas will be moving out of state at the end of the school year. But regardless of where Thomas is playing this fall, he's still one of the better wide receivers in the 2028 class. Thomas has been a dude to know since his freshman season. And as a sophomore, Thomas elevated his game to new heights. The Pioneers lost one of their star wide receivers to a season-ending injury halfway through the 2025 season. That opened the door for Thomas to absolutely dominate so he had a special sophomore season.

McAlester wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1689507' first='Rodney' last='Washington'] is one of our favorite prospects in this class and it's based solely on the athletic ability. Washington is a next level freak athlete and all you have to do is watch him play a quarter or two of basketball and you see he's at a different level than everyone from an athletic standpoint. Washington was productive during his sophomore season but we think he's just scratching the surface on what he can be on the football field. He's definitely a more polished basketball prospect right now but we think the ceiling will inevitably be higher for him on the gridiron. In our opinion, Washington will be contending to be the top receiver in this class by the time his senior year rolls around.

Metro Christian sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1705459' first='Finn' last='Kouplen'] is a two-player that we really like in the 2028 class but are leaning more to the offensive side of the ball. And we'll just throw this out there. When it comes to Metro Christian, it's good to be a skill player on the offensive side of the ball. They put up a lot of points and keep their wide receivers involved from start to finish. Kouplen might still be flying under the radar right now but we think it's only a matter of time before he has his breakout moment. We caught Kouplen in person once last season and he was equally as impactful on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. When it comes to Kouplen on defense, it should be mentioned that he's an incredibly physical player.

Mangum wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1838225' first='Zeke' last='Rogers'] is another prospect on this breakdown that we think is just scratching the surface on what he will end up being in a couple years. You could see flashes of what Rogers could be as a prospect during his sophomore season. Mangum had one of their best seasons in recent memory in 2025 and Rogers was a big part of that. You look at the production and Rogers was your prototypical big play threat. It felt like every time Rogers touched the ball, he was a threat to go the distance. Rogers has a good frame and is fun to watch after the catch. The arrow for Rogers is pointing up and we're looking forward to seeing how his game has developed this offseason.

Tuttle wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1837143' first='Donnie' last='Schluter'] is the first of several newcomers to our 2028 rankings at the wide receiver position. Tuttle had one of the best passing attacks in the state last fall because they had one of the best quarterbacks in the state. It will be interesting to see how they look in 2026 with a new QB1. But for Schluter in particular, he might be flying under the radar because Tuttle has had quite a few dynamic playmakers at the wide receiver position. But in our opinion, Schluter is a name to remember moving forward. He started to emerge for the Tigers as a legitimate threat in the passing game last fall and he's a guy that has a high ceiling moving forward. Schluter was playing some of his best football at the end of the regular season.

It was around this time last year that Edmond North wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1642470' first='Tripp' last='Jones'] got on our radar. He stood out in one of our 7v7 tournaments and then he took that momentum into his sophomore season. And when we look at how Jones finished the 2025 season, he has to be a player to watch going into 2026. Jones played some of his best football down the stretch and closed out the year as one of the top targets in the Edmond North passing attack. So now, when we start looking ahead to the 2026 season, Jones has an opportunity to take the next step and become one of the better wide receivers in 6A-1. And going against top competition week after week is going to give Jones a bright stage to perform on this fall.

Ketchum wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1692341' first='Gracian' last='Jones'] was a player that we didn't know much about two months ago. He then came out to our showcase event in Broken Arrow last month and quickly got on our radar. Then we went back and saw his production as a sophomore, along with his film and he's another newcomer to the 2028 rankings that deserves some more attention moving forward. Everything that we saw in that camp setting also translated when we watched him in pads. Jones was another example of a big play threat. More than a third of his catches during his sophomore season went for touchdowns. He's another example of why we love doing these showcase events in the offseason. He's firmly on our radar moving forward.

We finish this breakdown with Pryor speedster [player_tooltip player_id='2104925' first='Tyler' last='Belew'] and he's another guy that really stood out to us at our showcase event last month. And just like with the other guys, when you combine that with his overall production from last fall and then throwing on the film, it's hard to deny that he has the potential to be one of the more electric wide receivers in this class. Belew's speed immediately stands out as he is incredibly hard to stay in front of for defensive backs. But Belew is in a similar category to Schluter at Tuttle. Pryor had a three-year starter at the quarterback position. So they'll be breaking in a new QB1 this fall. Whoever that ends up being, Belew is going to give him a big target to lean on in the passing game.
