Cota impacted games in all three phases as a Kee junior in 2025. He threw for 1,348 yards and 21 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, and rushed for 266 yards (4.1 YPC) and seven scores. He even caught a 15-yard pass. On defense, Cota collected 30.5 tackles, 24 of which were solo stops, forced a fumble and picked off a pass. He averaged 14.4 yards on seven punt returns and contributed a pair of two-point conversions. The lefty gunslinger shows nice touch tossing the ball down the field. He's a good athlete that moves well behind center, scrambling for yards or picking them up on designed runs, and keeping plays alive off of schedule. Cota looks fluid as a cornerback, diagnosing plays quickly and getting downhill in a hurry when he reads run. As mentioned, he's a good athlete with easy change-of-direction ability that helps him stick in coverage. Cota is an interesting prospect in the eight-man game and could benefit from putting himself in front of coaches at college camps this summer.

We at Prep Redzone Iowa last wrote about "Gio" eight months ago following his sophomore season at Des Moines East. He transferred to Southeast Polk for the 2025 season, and it certainly was time to check in with how it unfolded in Pleasant Hill. The short answer is quite well. The big man earned second-team all-Group honors on the offensive line. He passed the challenge of facing the state's top competition with flying colors. Wilson's game revolves around power with agility added in to project as a productive performer on the next level. We can witness what that looks like when viewing his junior highlight video. First, he grew an inch, dropped 10 pounds and improved his stamina. Wilson is a monster in the run game, overwhelming D-Linemen regularly and pushing them back on their heels. He's sets up quickly in pass protection, uses his hands well and stays balanced. The upside here is significant. This kid should be getting more love along the recruiting trail.

A second-team all-district pick as a West Delaware junior in 2025, Vorwald confirmed his athleticism as an offensive lineman in reaching the quarterfinals at 3A state wrestling this winter. He was the district runner-up. Vorwald's strengths on the wrestling mat translate well to the football field. He operates with balance, flashes smooth footwork, plays with violent hands and keeps the pads low with optimal leverage. Vorwald illustrates how he gets the job done during his 11th-grade highlight video. Lining up at left tackle, he gets off of the snap very quickly and controls the opponent with his hands right away. Understanding angles, Vorwald does a nice job sealing the guy across from him out of plays. He drives through the chest well and finishes fast. Vorwald has a projectable frame capable of adding plenty of good weight in a college strength and conditioning program.

Tabbert did just about everything outside of selling popcorn at the stadium concession stand during halftime as a Osage junior in 2025. In the Green Devils' historic run The Dome, he racked up 40.0 tackles, 33 of which were of the solo variety. He forced a fumble and intercepted three passes. He averaged 40.8 yards on 19 punts and returned his only kickoff 17 yards. Tabbert rushed for 24 yards (4.0 YPC), caught five balls for 97 yards and delivered a trio of two-point conversions. When we pop on Tabbert's 11th-grade highlight video, we observe a versatile athlete capable of contributing whatever his team needs him. He's a versatile receiver that can get deep or gain tough yards underneath. Tabbert shines as a defensive back with long arms, long strides and fluidity in changing directions. The potential as a next-level punter also is there as are the skills to help a college in other areas of special teams. Tabbert is flying under the recruiting radar and would do well to get himself in front of college coaches at summer camps.

Ruby spent last season terrorizing opposing offenses as a Bllard junior. According to his X page, he's since transferred to Ankeny, where he will take a step up in competition. If his 11th-grade highlight video is any indication, he's prepared for the challenge. He's a versatile performer on the D-Line, physically controlling opponents lining up inside in a 4-3 alignment and beating them with speed coming off the edge of a 3-4 set. On top of that, he works effectively from both inside positions on the 4-3 or either outside spot on a three-player front. That gives coaches a student-athlete they can mold into the best player he can be depending on development. Ruby piled up 49.0 tackles, 40 of which were solo stops, in 2025. He had 4.0 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Ruby is another guy that could raise his college stock by attending camps this summer and showing what he can do.
