Upcoming Underclassmen Stand Out at SMSB Media Day

I had the pleasure of making my way down to Detroit to be part of the Sound Mind Sound Body Media Day, which gave me new perspectives on dozens of athletes! Below are a few up and coming underclassmen I am excited about heading into camp season.    AJ possesses some of the stickiest hands in the state of Michigan. It seems like everything thrown his way is a catch, regardless of coverage/throw. His body control and change of direction is exceptional, and his concentration on contested catches is remarkable. I had just watched his tape a few days before this event, and I loved it. I'm glad what I saw in person matched up to what he put on film this season. AJ is a mismatch for most defenders, and when he is asked to block, sometimes he's an even bigger mismatch. Once he locks on, he finishes his blocks. Great day from AJ, I am looking forward to watching his development!     I already really liked what I saw on film out of Lowe, but seeing him in person put into perspective how special he is. A long and lanky DB, but moves fluidly and can cover a ton of ground with his long strides. He's patient and cerebral and knows what receivers are trying to do, and his long arms allow him to break up passes even if he is a step behind. Lowe is one of the top 10 players in his class already, and with performances like this raise his stock even more.     I really like what I see from Zu'Bril. He moves well at his size, and is able to use his strong lower half to not get budged an inch. I absolutely love the way he is projecting to translate at DT at the next level. He has all of the tools for gap control and playmaking on the inside. I'm excited to see how he continues to develop, because right now he is looking like he will end up being a can't miss prospect.     One of the most impressive athletes in attendance on Sunday, Tyler did exactly what I expected. His route running was detailed and clean, and when the ball came his way, he made some spectacular grabs. His speed and size make him a mismatch on the outside, and his physicality allows him to muscle his way through his route and grab contested balls. Already offered by quite a few top programs, his stock continues to soar.     Mylan was dialed in all day, and put himself squarely in the conversation for the #1 player in the class of 2028. His speed is impressive, and he executed some high level routes with precision. I absolutely love his competitive drive and intensity. He understands leverage, the importance of being detailed on his routes and when and how to cut in one fluid motion. His recruitment has really taken off, and it's very easy to see why.     Jordan is on a great trajectory right now, and Sunday's performance confirmed everything I thought about him. Jordan possesses a big frame that's still building, and the tools to be a top tier offensive lineman in the state of Michigan. He packs a big, powerful punch and has the ability to use his strong lower half to bully defenders. He moves well, doesn't get his feet crossed or lean too much. He is developing incredibly well so far, and with some more honing at SMSB, he could absolutely burst onto the scene.     I may be more excited for Christian than just about any prospect in the state of Michigan. His athleticism is off the chart, and he possesses the IQ to match. He understands getting leverage on the DB, how to set them up, and when the ball comes his way, he can make some unreal catches. Any rep he took looked like teach tape. Brother Rice and their young athletes are on an insane stock rise, and guys like Christian will be an integral part of that.
