Expert Analysis

The defensive line performer of the day had a really good overall showing. I believe he tested really well for a kid his age and size. Though he’s an underclassmen, Zu’Bril showed a fundamental understanding of the dline position. Throughout the day when he wasn’t up for his own rep you could see him taking mental reps and even assisting other campers with repping different techniques. During drills, more specifically 1 on 1’s, Ruff displayed a wide array of power and finesse moves. As well as counter moves off of them.

I really like what I see from Zu’Bril. He moves well at his size, and is able to use his strong lower half to not get budged an inch. I absolutely love the way he is projecting to translate at DT at the next level. He has all of the tools for gap control and playmaking on the inside. I’m excited to see how he continues to develop, because right now he is looking like he will end up being a can’t miss prospect.

First off, it’s extremely impressive to be starting at Belleville as a freshman. Super high praise becuase of that.
In the middle of the offseason, I watched Ruff perform well at the Wayne State Mega Camp. High upside as a pass rusher. Knows what he’s doing.
Yesterday, Ruff struggled a bit, which is expected given he’s a freshman facing an outstanding OAA Red offensive line. On a few occasions, Ruff was able to shed his block and stop an inside run headed into an adjacent gap. On a few other occasions, Ruff earned his way into a backfield because of a good stunt.
He’s got the frame, and I saw him flash that pass rush during the offseason. Love his potential. Upgrade that explosiveness and continue the in-season conditioning, and he’ll be a major piece of the Belleville D throughout the season.

- A standout at the SMSB Wayne State Mega Camp
- Size and athletic ability of a D2-prospect Senior. Impressed with Ruff’s speed and bend for his size.
- Does a good job countering. Does not give up. A few wins against great offensive line talent
- A few years in the weight room, and experience at the High School level should propel Ruff to earn D1 attention
- Earns a ranking in large part due to me running into him at the Wanyne State Mega Camp. Glad I got an in-person eval
