Showcase change and rankings update

The third annual Virginia showcase will take place next week January 31st from 3-6 p.m. same location Michael and Sons Sportsplex. This give last minute registration a few more days to claim the final spots in our nearly sold out event. A few players set to not only attend Prep Redzone next showcase but are making an impression as the VA scouts review. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[<strong>player_tooltip player_id='1756940' first='Aaron' last='Preti']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1756940' first='Aaron' last='Preti'] appears to be the heir apparent to take over for longtime starter [player_tooltip player_id='1297938' first='Ryan' last='Carlson'] at Westfield next fall. Preti can sling very effortlessly and probably would have started at a number of other schools last season. He moves well in the pocket at 5'10 and 195 lbs., throwing for 13 touchdowns with the Bulldogs JV squad. I would anticipate him being a sophomore starter for Coach Vossler in 2026, he has earned it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1788531' first='Anthony' last='Mallory']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1788531' first='Anthony' last='Mallory'] stepped in for Patriot and delivered 16 touchdown passes and a Cedar Run District championship. He took enormous strides as the season wore on, constantly delivering clutch throws to help the Pioneers reach new heights. A year under his belt, I expect major growth as a passer for this young man. Previously on our watch list he will be in our top 50 when the new updates release. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1405199' first='Jayvion' last='Maldon']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reclassifying this off-season Loudoun Sports Academy multi position star [player_tooltip player_id='1405199' first='Jayvion' last='Maldon'] will rank high. Pop was previously ranked 24th in our 2028 class, expect him higher in this one. He is now up to 6'2 and 190 lbs., the young man projects fcs or higher ceiling. When he blitzes off the edge he brings it with fierce closing speed, Maldon can play safety or defensive end too. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2082759' first='Brendan' last='Richardson']</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Yorktown traditionally sends out standout offensive linemen, and [player_tooltip player_id='2082759' first='Brendan' last='Richardson'] looks like the latest. He is tough and physical at either center or guard on the offensive line. Fires off the snap and has a strong base to drive blockers on their backside. Set to attend our showcase next weekend, I will have my eye on him to see how he holds up during the 1vs1s. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1290145' first='Lord' last='Malik Heru']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Indian River standout quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1290145' first='Lord' last='Malik Heru'] may be eyeing the top overall spot, he currently has 10 D1 offers. The latest appearing to be from Pittsburgh, Heru is becoming the next big time qb out of the 757 area. He has an absolute cannon of an arm and has a strong poise in the pocket about him, his pocket presence is uncanny.
