Prep Redzone AL's 2025 All-State Team: ATH Selections

What an incredible season! With the year coming to an end, it's time for us to give our All-State selections!   Today, we're focusing on some of the most dominant ATHs in the state!   You won't want to miss out on this group of talent. Be sure to check out their film below. Now, here we go:   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">7A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1371428' first='Zion' last='Crumpton'] is an explosive ATH out of Carver who made plays all over the field this past season.   "Crumpton is a talented route runner capable of gaining great separation at every level of the field- he's such a reliable target in his offense, consistently getting open against some tougher secondaries and hauling in some huge catches throughout the year. Crumpton has a terrific set of hands he uses to bring in passes over the shoulder, downfield, and through contact/heavy coverage.   After the catch, Crumpton has breakaway speed and great change of direction he uses to make massive plays in the open field- it's really difficult for defenders to track and try to stop him once he's got the ball in his hands, he's terrific at making men miss and works to gain every possible yard each catch."   Crumpton is heading off to the next level, where I'm sure he'll be an instant contributor. Make sure you watch some of his tape below, he's set up to do some big things in college.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1992358' first='Derrion' last='Lewis'] is an explosive ATH who helped make a ton of plays on both sides of the ball for Jackson Olin this past fall.   "Lewis is explosive out of the backfield. He's patient, has impressive burst and top-end speed, and great vision he uses to navigate the field and create explosive plays. Once Lewis breaks into the open field, good luck stopping him. He is incredibly quick and can easily outrun any defenders on the field.   Defensively, Lewis is a reliable tackler who fles around the field to help create stops almost every snap. He's quick on his feet, has great instincts, and makes some impressive plays in coverage on the ball. I'm excited to see this guy play next year, he has a TON of talent/potential."   Lewis had a terrific season, recording 200 passing yards and 3 TDs through the air, 151 carries for 1668 yards and 15 TDs on the ground, and 30 total tackles (one for loss), 3 INTs, and 4 PBUs.   We all need to look out for Lewis this next season; he's a talented player with a big year ahead. In the meantime, check out some of his clips below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1536089' first='Joshua' last='Douthard'] is a two-way star out of Saint Clair County coming off a huge junior season in the 5A.   “On offense, Douthard is a dominant WR/RB who can come up with explosive plays wherever he lines up. At WR, Douthard plays with a ton of speed, runs impressive routes, and consistently takes the top off of defenses for huge plays in the passing game. Douthard uses the same game-breaking speed out of the backfield- he has great vision and breakaway speed that he uses to turn up and make huge plays in the open field.   Defensively, Douthard is a dominant DB with great ball skills who can make a ton of plays on the ball out in coverage. I'm impressed with his instincts and timing out in the secondary- he flies around the field and puts himself in great position to come up with stops against the run and pass.“   Douthard was unstoppable this year. He ended the season with 73 catches for 1101 yards and 20 TDs, 22 carries for 155 yards and 5 TDs, and 2 INTs/9 PBUs on defense.   Make sure you watch out for Douthard this season- he's already put together some great tape you can watch below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='2100103' first='Turner' last='Tillman'] is a talented LB/RB from Orange Beach who had an impressive breakout season in the 4A this past fall.   "Tillman is an impressive two-way player who thrives off his instincts and athleticism. He's quick, has good speed, sees the field well, and has impressive contact balance- making it difficult for defenses to take him down.   Defensively, Tillman is quick to get into the backfield. He explodes off the snap, has active hands and impressive leverage, and consistently works around offensive linemen to get to the ball. Tillman is also a reliable tackler; he does a great job wrapping up and not allowing for additional yardage. I'm really impressed with his tape."   Tillman had an impressive season, recording 32 carries for 190 and 2 TDs on the ground, 35 receptions for 366 yards and 3 TDs through the air, and 66 total tackles (7 for loss) and one sack on defense.   I hadn't watched Tillman until recently, but man, he's an impressive prospect. Everyone should have this kid on their radar heading into next season- he's got some great film you can watch below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1610217' first='Braden' last='Gordon'] is an elite ATH out of Montgomery Academy who's made plays against everyone in the 3A.   “At 6'4 200, Gordon is excellent at using his size and speed to his advantage on both sides of the ball. As a WR/RB, he consistently outmatches opposing DBs in the secondary, easily gets open, and can create a ton after the catch and out of the backfield with how fast he is in the open field.   Defensively, Gordon completely overwhelms OL off the edge to create huge stops in the backfield. He uses his speed to his advantage and consistently pursues the ball carrier/quarterback to make impressive hustle plays nearly every snap.“   Gordon ended his sophomore season with 61 carries for 455 yards and 11 TDs on the ground, 38 receptions for 610 yards and 5 TDs through the air, and 65 total tackles (33 solo, 17 for loss), 10 sacks, and one FF.   It's been a blast watching Gordon these last two years. He's one of the most talented two-way players in the state. Be sure to watch some of Gordon's tape below, you'll be impressed.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1196862' first='Alijah' last='Woods'] is an explosive two-way player for Reeltown who has dominated the 2A the last two seasons.   "Woods has been highly productive as both an electric wide receiver and hard-hitting strong safety. Woods is coming off a big freshman season that saw him make a ton of plays out wide and in coverage.   He plays with a bunch of speed, aggression, and physicality that separate him from others on the field. Woods constantly finds himself around the ball making plays- he consistently gains separation and makes catches, and is a terrific tackler that can make plays on the ball in coverage as well."   Woods was unstoppable this year, bringing in 32 receptions for 792 yards and 10 TDs, with another 77 total tackles (7 for loss), one sack, and 4 INTs/4 FRs on defense.   I'm a huge fan of Woods' game. He's had a huge impact on offense and defense; we all need to look out for him next season. Be sure to watch some of his film below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1649413' first='Jamari' last='Nicks'] is an explosive WR/RB from Winterboro who had another massive year in the 1A.   "Nicks is highly athletic and can do so many things well with the ball in his hands- he is super fast, can easily make defenders miss, and can affect the game from multiple positions.   At WR, Nicks is a matchup nightmare for opposing DBs- he is a talented route runner who finds separation at every level of the field, has a great set of hands he uses to haul in tough-to-catch passes, and can create huge plays after the catch by using his speed and elusiveness."   Nicks carried the ball 32 times for 499 yards and 10 TDs and hauled in 18 passes for 391 yards and 3 TDs out wide as well.   Nicks has been an exciting player to watch over the last two years. We all need to keep track of him moving forward, as he has a big junior season ahead of him next fall.
