Nicks picked up some FBS attention this offseason and should hold steady as a premier playmaker in this class. He is more of a gadgety, pure playmaker right now than he is a receiver, so I wouldn’t anchor him down to a specific position just yet. Regardless, Nicks is scrappy and fights hard to stay on his feet and keep plays alive. So much so that I think you can actually overlook his athletic traits. He has elite explosiveness in the short areas and finds his top speed in a hurry. It is worth keeping tabs on Nicks to see how his recruitment unfolds.

On the topic of receivers, Nicks has every tool to hold steady as a top receiver in the 2028 class, and the college attention adds more validation to that claim. Nicks is a truly elite playmaker who can impact each level of the field, but is best with the ball in his hands. He is a long strider who holds his speed through changes of direction. He also squeezes the most out of each rep and fights hard to stay upright. I think he will stick at WR long term, but he could be seen as an ATH. Regardless, this kid is a threat to score from any spot on the field.

Nicks is on the shortlist of elite RB/WR hybrids who can generate all-state production at either spot and be the focal points of a high-level offense.

This electrifying style is rooted in lateral quickness and advanced footwork. This, combined with his low center of gravity, makes him a certified problem in the open field. However, Nicks doesn’t need much space- his agility allows him to make guys miss in a phone booth.

Outside his traditional skill as a scat back- he’s fully comfortable lining up on the outside.  That same cutting skill helps him create space and force mismatches. When he does find himself open, he has good enough hands to qualify as a full-time receiver, which is rare for running backs. This dynamic skill set separates him from most in his class and could land him more Power Four offers.
