Derrion Lewis Derrion Lewis 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Jacksonolin | 2027 State AL is an explosive ATH who helped make a ton of plays on both sides of the ball for Jackson Olin this past fall.

“Lewis is explosive out of the backfield. He’s patient, has impressive burst and top-end speed, and great vision he uses to navigate the field and create explosive plays. Once Lewis breaks into the open field, good luck stopping him. He is incredibly quick and can easily outrun any defenders on the field.

Defensively, Lewis is a reliable tackler who fles around the field to help create stops almost every snap. He’s quick on his feet, has great instincts, and makes some impressive plays in coverage on the ball. I’m excited to see this guy play next year, he has a TON of talent/potential.”

Lewis had a terrific season, recording 200 passing yards and 3 TDs through the air, 151 carries for 1668 yards and 15 TDs on the ground, and 30 total tackles (one for loss), 3 INTs, and 4 PBUs.

Lewis is a physical runner who welcomes contact and sets the tone for his offense. He runs with urgency and doesn’t shy away from congested lanes. His leg drive allows him to grind out tough yards, especially in critical situations. Lewis shows good north-south ability and wastes little movement. He’s dependable in closing out games when teams need to lean on the run. Another season of reps should help him sharpen his vision and explosiveness.

“Lewis thrives off his patience and ability to evade defenders. He’s great at using his vision to find open lanes, takes his time in the backfield, and can easily cut and make defenders miss to move the chains.

I’m really impressed with Lewis’ top-end speed. Once he gets moving in the open field, good luck catching up to him. Lewis can outrun defenses and find the end zone at almost any given moment. He’s a tough back to stop; we’ll have to keep track of him over this next year.”

Lewis has been terrific this season. He’s racked up 112 carries for 1330 yards and 13 TDs on the ground.
