If you aren't already aware, one of Minnesota's premier offseason events went down yesterday in Vadnais Heights at TCO Sports Garden. Trench Mob, a 2015-founded training and 5v5 traveling OL/DL competition service and program founded by NFL alumni Julius Williams and Anthony Smith, collaborated with LineofScrimmage (LOS), the Twin Cities-based elite, premier linemen skill development and team consulting headed by Totino-Grace, Montana State, and New Orleans Saints product Lewis Kidd, for an inaugural, first-of-its-kind tryout up in the frigid Land of 10,000 Lakes. Within a couple hours of work, one of the most decorated conglomerates of linemen (particularly DL) to hit a MN offseason stop congregated for some training, technique, and of course, 1v1 competition, to name TrenchMobUSA's MN 5v5 squad, the first in state history. B1G talent all over the board, and lucky for you, PRZMN has your exclusive coverage. Your top Offensive Line performers are below!

*it should be reiterated that this OL group was going against an extremely talented DL group and took a ton of reps throughout the afternoon of work. Very impressive showing by the Offensive Line representatives.

--

Event Alpha: [player_tooltip player_id='1452200' first='Nehemiah' last='Ombati'] (Shakopee) 2027. 6'3, 275 lbs. DL.

OL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1653199' first='Liam' last='Nessler'] (Mankato West) 2027. 6'4, 240 lbs. OT.

Top Performers

[player_tooltip player_id='1653199' first='Liam' last='Nessler'] (Mankato West) 2027. 6'4, 240 lbs. OT.

The Top Performer and PRZMN OL MVP of the group comes out of Mankato West and the stock-rising offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1653199' first='Liam' last='Nessler']! Measuring in at around 6'4, 240 pounds, Nessler was working and winning against a P4-heavy DE group on Monday afternoon, building some steam as a prospect on the developing recruiting trail and making PRZMN bullish on his potential going into the all-important Summer Camp SZN. Nessler was light on his feet and consistently threw well-timed punches in his pass pro set, and the length/strength combination helped him to bully DEs at the top of the arc and especially if he got inside hand position. The power, plus how noticeably he ran his feet post-contact, put more than a few DEs on their backside or getting ran out of the pocket like they were on roller skates, and the Mankato product was a stonewall against smaller rushers with top-notch hand fighting skills to boot. He never seemed to overextend or get out of position off the snap, got better and improved as he felt things out and as the day wore on, and displayed patient, clean footwork and a fluid ability to adjust laterally as well. The best offensive tackle with the best footwork of the group, I love the foot speed, frame, and ceiling on this developing 2027 offensive tackle. Great showing at TCO Sports Garden by the Scarlets' OT.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581381' first='Luke' last='Ketchum'] (Andover) 2028. 6'3, 285 lbs.

A recent PRZMN Stock-Up Showcase Top Performer from the OL group, Ketchum was a beast from his guard sport, flashing some strong reps against high-quality and experienced DL competition and really getting the LOS and Trench Mob staff fired up. Ketchum consistently won at the snap and was light on his feet, keeping his feet active and choppy when adjusting laterally against quicker DTs and 3Ts. The Andover product also proved he was strong enough to hang in there with D1-offered power rushers trying to work N/S and upfield, and he flashed a couple dominant reps against high-quality competition from his guard spot, displaying the strength and balance to halt DTs in their tracks and keep them far from arm's length away from the QB. Ketchum also owned impressive balance, doing a good job of readjusting after contact and staying square through a defensive lineman's move and/or second effort and earning success against both twitch and power, as well as a variety of different rushers throughout the afternoon in Vadnais Heights. Huskies got a good one here!

[player_tooltip player_id='1654571' first='Beau' last='Baukol'] (Mankato West) 2028. iOL. 6'1, 250 lbs.

Another Mankato West Scarlets OL very much worth getting excited about, sophomore OG [player_tooltip player_id='1654571' first='Beau' last='Baukol'] manufactured a standout performance at the LOS x Trench Mob 5v5 tryouts, raising his stock and more than holding his own against D1-offered DL in Vadnais Heights. Baukol won pass pro reps like it was run blocking drill, getting so tightly engaged and winning with so much dominance at the contact point that DL were ending up going backward like they were on skates. He was nonstop whistle to whistle, with a fiery and competitive play style and energy that really rose to the occasion and stood out amongst his peers. Baukol was super consistent, always seemed to win or find himself in better positioning than his opponent at and off the snap, and impressively strong, especially for his size. He owned an excellent base and was a successful hand fighter who did a great job of battling and working for optimal, inside hand position, which also disallowed DTs to rip cleanly through and helped him earn some good wins against future FBS/FCS DTs. Stoked I got to see this dude live and in the flesh on Monday afternoon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1695222' first='Gavin' last='Elliott'] (Prior Lake) 2029. iOL. 6'2, 275 lbs.

I think we found the best OL in the 2029 class, ladies and gentlemen! Enter Prior Lake's [player_tooltip player_id='1695222' first='Gavin' last='Elliott'], who owns notable and impressive size for his age to start things off. I stood right next to Elliott and compared for sizes, and as a legitimate 5'11er myself, Elliott was coming in at around 6'1.5"-6'2" and told me he was a solid and toned 275ish pounds as a freshman in high school. A brick wall in pass protection with a great base who did a great job of handling both speed and power, the young Laker did a great job of not overstepping, as well as staying square throughout a rep and was consistent in maintaining strong body position and not overreaching or overextending in pass protection. Plus, he was balanced and physical at the top of the arc, did a good job of using a rusher's momentum against them, and for his efforts, threw a couple DL out of the club for some of the more emphatic and impressive finishes of the afternoon of competition. Talk about a rising star!

[player_tooltip player_id='1695222' first='Gavin' last='Elliott'] - Prior Lake 2029

Honorable Mentions

[player_tooltip player_id='1648453' first='Wyatt' last='Henderson'] (South St. Paul) 2027. 6'1, 295 lbs.

The 651's 2027 OL class is well represented thanks to South St. Paul High School! One of two top performers from the Packers' OL going into next season, Henderson is a beast in the middle of the OL, proving himself as arguably the most physical and nasty OL in attendance at the LOS x Trench Mob 5v5 Tryouts on Monday afternoon at TCO Sports Garden. Henderson threw a couple rushers onto their faces once they overextended or got on their toes, and he ate contact and power rushes right into chest like it was a late afternoon lunch. Thrived as things got more physical and showed a good understanding of leverage and how to counter defensive linemen depending on what they were attempting to work, and his nasty edge and strength helped him earn a couple pancakes in pass pro. Lead in his hands and overall pop sent a couple DL sprawling, and he built a fun and competitive rivalry with a 2027 612-area rusher who put together some of the more fiery battles of the day. Henderson did a good job of taking away away DT's inside rushing moves, handled spin moves effectively, and was able to stay engaged with DL through their pass rush move and second effort. Plus, he shows a good build for the interior of the OL. NSIC coaches: be on notice!

[player_tooltip player_id='1288324' first='Kellen' last='Simmons'] (Park of Cottage Grove) 2027. OL/DL. 6'2, 250 lbs.

A familiar name to PRZMN, Park of Cottage Grove's 2027 two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1288324' first='Kellen' last='Simmons'] was working at LT and RT on Monday night at TCO Sports Garden. The very experienced two-way contributor displays lots to work with as an offensive tackle prospect. Simmons has gotten leaner since the last time I've seen him and showed his experienced pass rushing background on the other side of the ball in his quick feet and general COD ability. He owns can't-miss length and a great frame to add weight in a college S&C setting, and the Wolfpack product did a good job of getting his paws on first and early, and his punch was effective enough to halt most rushers in their tracks, especially leaner speed rushers. Big-time sleeper in the 2027 ranks, on either side of the ball too!

Dominic Rach (Pine River-Backus) 2027. OT. 6'7, 300 lbs.

PRZMN always seems find under-the-radar monsters at LOS events, and the newest gem comes from the small schools ranks in 6'7, 300 lb. boulder of a 2027 OT Dominic Rach. Our first exposure to Rach, PRZMN is thrilled with this young man's size, potential, and ability. The Pine River product wears his 300 pounds very well, showing noticeable muscle tone and a lean, long, upper body that could add more mass and muscle in a college S&C program. Owning heavy hands, good balance, and patience off the snap when working to get hands on and allowing DL to complete their pass rush move, Rach flashed some exciting tools and wins for a raw OT of his size, and I have to give props to Rach for coming in against polished, very experienced, competitively-trained Metro-area DL well-versed in these camp 1v1 settings. The 2027 stock riser was the strongest kid there, especially when he was able to find good hand placement, and although he would occasionally overstep or hop off the snap or at the top of the arc, Rach's upside and potential are staring at you in the face as you think about the physical tools once the technique gets cleaned up. Talk about a big potential winner on the summer camp trail!

August Nyakeoga (South St. Paul) 2027. 6'3, 290 lbs.

A new name to the PRZMN 2027 OL radar, August Nyakeoga was the second of two standout South St. Paul OL performers from the LOS x Trench Mob 5v5 tryouts. A physically large and imposing prep OT with can't-miss size, Nyakeoga's foot speed and nimbleness were hard to ignore during 1v1 reps. The athletic and COD ability were reminiscent more of a basketball player than developing offensive tackle, and he showed some of the heavier hands in attendance, sticking rushers at the contact point and doing a great job of dominating once he got hands on. His notable lateral agility for a big-bodied OT helped him work laterally so fluidly that it resembled a power forward on the hardcourt in exciting fashion and he flashed a couple dominant reps of outright dominance throughout 1v1s. Big-time name to know for the developing 2027 OL class.

Louie Kendall (Minnetonka) 2028. 6'1, 260 lbs.

Yet another new, bruising, and still-growing OL name to know out of the heavyweight Minnetonka Skippers program, sophomore Louie Kendall was thrown into the fire against a decorated D1-heavy DL group while ALSO playing out of position at LT, a stark contrast from his usual OG spot. Kendall had a strong showing, especially impressing his hometown LOS staff, and against twitchy, ultra-fast speed rushers, Kendall proved his can gain depth in his pass set while staying square to help handle speed rushers challenging that outside shoulder. He was successful if he was able to get to the top of the arc before a rusher, which he was nimble and fast enough to pull off, as his length and base could handle most of the rushers in attendance in Vadnais Heights. Kendall took reps at both guard and tackle, flashed some lateral agility, and did a good job of handling inside rushing moves and could stay engaged against toolsy pass rushers well versed in these settings. I also liked how he proved his could stay patient and maintain a good base through twitchier edge rushers at the LT spot, as well as drop his hips and handle bend at the top of the arc. SO much beef coming out of the Skippers right now!

--
