January Stock-Risers: 2028 QBs

Welcome to Rankings Week! We released our updated <a href="https://prepredzone.com/north-carolina/rankings/2028-rankings/">2028 class rankings</a> on Monday, and we have a ton of content on deck. As always, I started the week by going <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/behind-the-scenes-of-the-2028-rankings-update-january/">behind the scenes</a> of the update, and now we're analyzing every single player who rose in the rankings. Here are our 2028 quarterback stock-risers.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 Quarterback Stock-Risers</h2>    Napier has college size and a great arm, and there's plenty to love early on in his development. He runs a ton of RPOs for Mallard Creek's offense, and he almost always makes the right decision and delivers on time. The raw passing numbers don't wow you as he split time at the position and played arguably the hardest schedule in the state. He doesn't run often, but he was highly effective at six yards a carry. He'll enter the 2025 season as the starter, so I'm interested to see how he continues to develop this offseason.     Johnson isn't the biggest guy, and he's not even really a full-time starter, as part of a two-QB system with one of our top 2027s for state-champion Reidsville. But he can deliver on time with consistent accuracy, and with a precision that allows his playmakers to maximize yards after the catch. I'm interested to see where he goes from here, but if he can keep working in the weight room, he'll be a guy to know for the 2026 season and beyond.     Everything Morales does on a football field is smooth and calm, from the way he commands a huddle to his footwork in the pocket to his easy, compact throwing motion. The ball jumps off his hand, and he can generate plenty of power with relative ease. He's got plenty of playmakers at Country Day, and he's more than willing to throw to a spot and let his receivers track the ball down.     Williams not only made All-Conference but won Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore after a tremendous 2025 campaign. Even if the rushing stats don't look impressive on the surface, the three-sport athlete is a true dual-threat, with multiple highlight reel runs on tape. After the season, he hit our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/12/prz-stock-up-showcase-carolinas-qbs-wrs-notes/">Prep Redzone Showcase</a> and impressed in that camp setting as well.     Bell has FBS size and arm talent and wasted no time adjusting to the varsity level in his first year as a full-time starter. He generates a ton of velocity with minimal effort, with a smooth throwing motion. We were impressed with his touch and ability to layer balls between coverages, making him the ideal candidate for a college spread system.     After playing—and impressing—as a freshman, Lopez's production scaled with his playing time. He averaged 25 attempts a game, maintaining relatively strong accuracy and showing his athleticism and rushing ability. He's a guy who is going to have a ton of experience by the time he graduates, and the fact that he continues to progress puts him ahead of others in the class.
