Top 5 WR/TE Rooms in Tennessee for 2026 Season

<p>The 2025 high school football season inside the state of Tennessee has come to an end and the focus now turns to who returns for the 2026 season next year.</p>   <p>While there will be a lot of moving parts with risers, fallers and even transfers, we begin to take a look at which teams have the best room at each position group in the days leading up to Christmas.</p>   <p>Today, we continue the series with taking a look at the top five receiving rooms, consisting of both wideouts and tight ends, inside the state of Tennessee for the 2026 season.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1.) Sevier County High School</h2>   <p>Sevier County loses their most productive receiver from this past season, but will return a large share of production with a variety of receiving threats that can give a lot of unique looks and challenges.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1577078' first='Parker' last='Newman'] returns as an exciting athlete that the coaching staff figures out ways to get the ball in his hands.</p>   <p>The 6-foot-5 and 210 pound chess piece recorded 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns this season and could take another large step forward as he continues to build the chemistry with his brother and quarterback in [player_tooltip player_id='1142902' first='Cooper' last='Newman'].</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/rivalrythursday/status/1855043137028165938?s=46 </div></figure>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1103040' first='Jaxson' last='Perry'] was able to claim more of a full-time role at the tight end position with Newman moving around the formation and he capitalized, hauling in over 500 yards and eight touchdown passes.</p>   <p>Zach Banks found ways to be very productive off the bench last season as a sophomore. He has the size and speed to truly breakout next year with two seniors graduating, so keep an eye out for him.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4.) Alcoa High School</h2>   <p>No, your phone did not glitch at this point of the article. Alcoa has dynamic receiving options all over the field and it will remain that way despite losing standout senior [player_tooltip player_id='1630037' first='JaColby' last='Cooper'].</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='817933' first='Jamir' last='Dean'] is one of the best receivers in the entire state and should continue moving forward along his development arc into the bona fide Power Four level receiver that he is.</p>   <p>Dean offers excellent size, strength, natural movement ability and ball skills at the position. He is a prospect to watch as a legitimate riser in the recruiting world on the P4 scale this offseason.</p>   <p>The team has a lot of versatile weapons that should complement Dean and keep opposing defenses constantly guessing for the full duration of the game.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/shaynep_media/status/1997375010000756736?s=46 </div></figure>   <p>Jamerius Abuhenia (2027) and [player_tooltip player_id='1028069' first='Haynes' last='Hawkins'] (2028)should effectively step into larger roles to fill the void left by Cooper after strong years as part of a rotation.</p>   <p>The team also has a pair of chess pieces that can play running back or receiver at their disposal as well.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5.) Franklin Road Academy</h2>   <p>FRA is a fun program to try to rank for this category as none of their top receiving threats this past year are actually being recruited as a receiver prospect for the next level.</p>   <p>However, they are big, athletic and productive with all but one player returning to the team next season.</p>   <p>Vanderbilt safety commit [player_tooltip player_id='903033' first='Omarii' last='Sanders'] led the way with his explosive 6-foot-4 frame, hauling in 63 receptions for 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first year at the position.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/shaynep_media/status/1976483577580933207?s=46 </div></figure>   <p>Fellow safety [player_tooltip player_id='1664092' first='Amari' last='Mitchell'] also spent his first year at the position in an additional full-time capacity and consistently made plays throughout the season.</p>   <p>The offense does lose [player_tooltip player_id='1167514' first='Jayden' last='Rush'], who was the reliable veteran that carved out space over the middle of field, but there is a youthful talent on the way that people are very, very excited about.</p>   <p>That player is rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1538206' first='Re'mello' last='Armstrong'] who already holds a strong frame at six-foot and 190 pounds with the intriguing athleticism that will make him one of the top young prospects to know for the offseason and next season.</p>
