Rising Stars 250: Offensive Standouts

The Rising Stars 250 camp always provides excellent insight into the best up-and-coming talent. I've got a large number of offensive standouts. When I watched Lorenzo in-season, I thought he had above-average twitch, and solid vision in the open field. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At camp, Lorenzo jumped out of the gym. Consistently one of, if not the best, release and acceleration at camp. Additionally, Lorenzo ran immaculate routes all day, and did a great job changing direction at his break and stopping on a dime. Without a doubt, Lorenzo is a Division 1 prospect. I'd say he's improved in just about every category. For one, Will has better footwork on his release and throughout his routes. Better efficiency and less wasted movement. Ball skills have also improved, as I watched Will catch a few difficult passes in tight coverage. Additionally, he looks a tad bit bigger, and I know he's looking to continue filling out his frame. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Good camp, but even better tape. As I've said several times already, Will has elite tape. Playing WR, Reaves had a consistently above-average release, and changed direction way better than I'd expect from a 6'0"+ receiver. In his breaks, Reaves kept his hips low with efficient footwork. Finally, I saw flashes when it came to catch radius and hands. Reaves was able to come down with a few difficult passes. Right off the bat, his size is impressive. True 6'3"-6'4", and already a good amount of muscle. Plus, Shane moves incredibly fast for his size. No, he's not quite as twitchy as a 5'9" slot receiver, but he's still quite quick in his release, and he had many moments of good change of direction. Projecting (in my view) as an X receiver, I'd like to see Shane make further improvements regarding release, speed, and hands (especially in traffic). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Committing fully to football this season, I'm expecting a significant jump by Fall 2026. He projects as a slot receiver with a pretty similar skillset to Mitey Edmonds. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was impressed with Stephan's burst and change of direction. He looked even faster than he does on tape. Additionally, I didn't see many drops from Stephan- good eye discipline, and strong hands through the catch. All-around a very productive day from Stephan, and I fully expect him to take a big leap next season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
