Despite the blistering cold of Sunday, December 14th's frozen tundra of a morning and afternoon, over 250 Minnesotans, Wisconsinites, and North Dakotans descended on the Brooklyn Park Sports Dome for a tremendous day of competition. Split across two sessions and staffed & scouted by half a dozen college programs from around the state, the 2025 PrepRedzoneMN Stock Up Showcase kicked off with Session 1's RBs, LBs, OL, and defensive linemen, who stuffed the BP Sports Dome end-to-end with size, talent, and athleticism. PRZMN's post-event coverage begins with the RB and LB standouts, who had a particularly eventful day of competition, as their positional drill work merged together for periods of 1v1 pass pro as well as tracking the hip 1v1 box drill action.
A unanimous Top Performer from both coaches and media in attendance, Neumann was also the most pleasant surprise, and dare I saw unassuming stud, of the entire PRZMN Stock Up Showcase. Hutchinson produces nothing but tough and athletic high school football prospects, so I should have seen it coming, but Neumann was the fastest Minnesotan in attendance at the event, popping off a 4.63 and 4.65 40, as well as one of the quickest and most athletic, see his 4.43 shuttle and 9'11.5" and 9'10" broad jumps to sweeten the pot. Neumann also showed lethal footwork in space, with noticeably impressive anticipation and twitch in his cuts, and he was downright dangerous during 1v1 box drills against LBs, snatching ankles and embarrassing LBs at a frightening clip given the casualness of his performance.

The twitchiest RB of the Stock Up Showcase, Meaway was popping off some flat-out ridiculous moves, jukes, and cuts in space against LBs in 1v1s, with a tremendous combination of balance and body control that allows him to fake and dummy at the entirely last second or with a crazy amount of fakes leading up to that final move. Meaway was also the top route runner of the stacked RB group, and put on an absolute clinic during 1v1s and the eventual Best on Best reps to end Session 1.
One of the biggest and best looking RBs from Session 1 of the PRZMN Stock Up Showcase in Brooklyn Park, Jenkins, who came in with a 6'5" wingspan and 10" hands, was a standout performer during all three phases of the event. Jenkins was particularly impressive during positional drills, as his smooth change of direction ability, intentional, quick footwork, and ability to cut at top speed made him an easy first-in-line performer who had the coaches as excited as they were impressed.

A rock-solid ATV of a sophomore RB prospect, Centennial Cougars' Ekah came in with one of the most promising resumes of the loaded PRZMN Stock Up Showcase's RB group. A starter with the 6A Big School Cougars, who went 9-2 in 2025, Ekah came in as the #3 leading rusher at the conclusion of the season, and he showed why he's already a proven varsity producer unpadded on the turf of the Brooklyn Park Sports Dome. With quick feet and some of the looser hips in attendance, Ekah was incredibly shifty in the hole during 1v1 drill work against the LBs, and he was able to create some big-time cuts and separation against helpless LBs attempting to track and close on the hip. Not only was the 1v1 elusiveness present, Ekah was also powerful, and the sophomore was able to generate a ton of power out of his cuts that kept LBs on their heels in anticipation of contact. Total package for the highly-ranked 2028er, who should see his ranking rise come update time next month.

As D1-worthy of a prospect we saw in 2025 at our two PRZMN showcases, Totino-Grace's Ben Bergan is up there as one of the most eye-catching prospects I've seen come out of Minnesota in the last five years. Not only does he look the part as a First Team All-Lobby or First Team All-Eye Test selection, Bergan has the athleticism to really get D1 coaches excited. At a legit and verified 6'2, 238 pounds with a 6'4 wing and 9.5" hands as of Sunday, Bergan went 4.8 in the 40, 4.53 and 4.56 in the shuttle, 10' in the broad, and 6.94 and 6.97 in the L-drill so showcase athleticism that would make him a mobile and productive off-ball LB, much less FB/DL combo that he played at TG in 2025. Watching a junior of that size comfortably and effectively operate RB drills was quite the sight, and his ability to run routes and create separation as a refrigerator of a tailback out of the backfield only added to his skillset and title as one of the most dynamic players in Minnesota. Can't wait to see what this offseason brings for the 2027 stud and long-time PRZMN Showcase top performer. FCS schools get on notice!

A tremendous new RB who broke out onto the varsity recruiting as a sophomore with 6A competitor Prior Lake, [player_tooltip player_id='1894343' first='Luke' last='Watkins'] is the real deal, folks. You know how you finish as a Big School competitor's leading rusher as a first year starter and sophomore underclassman? By being a better athlete than all of your peers. Watkins blew the testing portion of the Stock Up Showcase out of the water, going sub-4.8 in the 40, as well as 4.38 and 4.5 in the shuttle, 9'6 and 9'5 broad jump, and 7.1 L-drill to really knock in terms of the athleticism and upside. Watkins was also a strong and productive competitor whose Big School experience showed up well in a camp setting, as he was quick, technically-sound, and dynamic out of the backfield, especially as a route runner. The future is VERY bright for this young man, and I'm stoked to get him on the 2028 ranking's Big Board come update time next month.

One of the most productive freshman RBs from MN's 2025 season, I saw Brooklyn Center's first-year tailback [player_tooltip player_id='2079023' first='Gavin' last='Thomas'] twice during the fall, but this was my first exposure to him in an unpadded camp setting, and for his first PRZMN Showcase, Thomas certainly delivered. Measured in at a low, balanced, and powerful 5'5, 215 lbs., and rocketed off bests of a 4.71 in the 40, 4.69 in the shuttle, 8'11 in the broad, and 7.37 in the L-drill, showing off a fun and unique build + athleticism combo for a freshman in high school with a plethora of varsity experience under his belt. A lot of the drill work was a bit new to the young buck, but you could absolutely see the quickness and burst throughout drills, and he came alive during competition and 1v1s as well. Thomas is continuing to build on what was a standout freshman campaign, solidifying himself as a name to know and big-time debutant on the 2029 rankings.

Back-to-back standout PRZMN winter showcase performances by Armstrong High School 2028 tailback Pinney! First off, good to see some physical growth from Pinney's freshman to sophomore year, and he also has improved on his speed and quickness, the former of which he put to good use in 1v1 box drills with LBs. Pinney produced one of the session's most memorable and electric moments during RB vs. LB positional competition that included tracking the hip and closing in a restricted boxed area, wherein the sophomore faked right, planted explosively off his right foot, leaving the helpless LB's feet stuck where he stood, seemingly frozen in time while Pinney stole his ankles in real time. The twitch and highlight-reel-worthy timing made it one of the most exciting plays of the morning and PRZMN Showcase overall.

One of the early leaders in a blossoming 2028 RB class in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Darsow proved why he was one of the state's sophomore rushing leaders in 2025, popping off a fantastic testing performance and backing it up during 1v1s. Darsow popped off a 4.71 and 4.75 40, 4.66 and 4.69 shuttle, and broad jumps of 9'7 and 9'5 to highlight himself as one of the best athletes in attendance. Nimble and shifty in space, Darsow was also one of the better route runners from the loaded RB group, and was having his way with opposing LBs during 1v1s, particularly when working deep. Lot of good football left for the sophomore standout.

Big, strong, solid sophomore tailback from a high school known for producing tough and dynamic offensive weapons. Dahdah showed off solid quickness and explosiveness for his size, and didn't mind smashing his face into contact during RB vs. LB 1v1 pass pro drills. Looks like a promising and diverse crop of RBs in STA's 2028 class, Dahdah very much included in said mix.

A standout wrestler for the Otters who recently surpassed 150 career wins, Fronning had a strong showing on the gridiron of the Brooklyn Park Dome on Sunday, proving himself to be one of the better athletes out of the RB group highlighted by a solid 4.81 40, 4.53 shuttle, and 9'1 broad, and he showed off soft hands and some vertical ability as a pass catcher during 1v1s. Gotta love multi-sport athletes with the versatility and that Fronning brings to the table.

A unanimous Top Performer from both the college coaches and scouts in attendance, New Prague had a strong showing at the 2025 PRZMN Stock Up Showcase, led by the standout junior 'backer [player_tooltip player_id='1952497' first='Owen' last='Johnson']. A well-built, cut-up brick of a junior, Johnson was one of the most consistent performers of Session 1, with noticeable COD ability at a near-215 lbs. with great technique, a smooth and high-paced ability to track and close the hip, and the quickness to stay on top of streaking RBs running routes during 1v1s. Big-time thumper when he got the chance to put his shoulders on someone as well. Always seemed to be in good position throughout Session 1 in the Brooklyn Park Sports Dome.

Another standout junior from the New Prague Trojans program, Laine was the first player to catch my eye on Sunday at the PrepRedzoneMN Showcase, and he's a new name to the PRZMN radar who should be making a noteworthy debut on the 2027 ranking's Big Board in January. Rocking a 6'3 wingspan, Laine went 4.81 and 4.85 in the 40, 4.59 in the shuttle, and 8'11 in the broad jump, and boy was he cool, calm, and collected during 1v1 positional work against RBs. Laine was smooth, fluid, and quick when tracking and closing on RBs in the box drill, and he was mobile and dynamic in space during 1v1 coverage against RBs running routes. Laine looks, plays, and performed like a stud future 3-down linebacker in college.

Yes, you read that right, Pequot Lakes has an NCAA Create-A-Player of a freshman linebacker in Henry O'Neil. I'm already regretting not getting a picture. O'Neil resembles a college freshman linebacker as opposed to a high school first year, as he sports broad, powerful shoulders and a cut up, well-defined upper body that you would never guess is worn by a 14/15 year old. With a 4.75 shuttle and 8'10 broad as a freshman, O'Neil is certainly athletic for his age and size, and he did a great job of keeping in good position in front of twitchier, older, and more experienced RBs from the Metro and beyond. The Pequot Lakes product more than stood out against seasoned competition, making me even more bullish on his potential going into his sophomore year, especially given the fact he started every game as a freshman at OT. Don't get it twisted, through, O'Neil is meant for the middle of the defense. Get to know the name now!

Always nice to have a state champion at the PRZMN Stock Up Showcase, and Horsch is a tremendous young linebacker prospect out of the defending Class AAA state champs Annandale. Horsch originally caught my eye during the 40, as his near 210 pounds and obvious length made him an easy choice for an All-Eye Test Team nod, but then he went near sub-4.9 in the 40, along with a 4.69 shuttle and 8'10 broad to really highlight some athleticism for a young buck of his size. Rangy, quick, and instinctive, Horsch had some juice and strong reps in coverage against quicker, older RBs, and is a three-down linebacker prospect with scholarship-worthy size and potential already punching through the surface. This offseason is going to be a big one for the 2028er, who is positioning himself to make a serious splash in 2026 as an upperclassman. Buy stock now!

Good testing numbers from the freshman started his Session 1 campaign on a high note, and Sykora's quickness was especially impressive, as well as useful in practical football settings. Sykora's twitch allowed him to stay right in the hip pocket of streaking RBs going out for a route, as well as mirror and stay square in front of the most laterally agile and shifty RBs in 1v1 settings.
Great size for a sophomore with a good last name, Chanhassen's Englund sports a 6'5 wingspan and some noteworthy quickness and lateral agility, and given the already-present size/length + the potential to continue adding size and mass makes me think Englund could possibly slide down to the DL further on into his career with the Storm. Rocking a 6'10 wingspan, Jeske's length and quickness (4.56 shuttle) allowed him to maintain good positioning on RBs throughout 1v1s, as well as compete at the catch point on a variety of different routes, and the high-level of coaching he's received at Waseca showed up during indy, as he was consistent in his technique, coachable, and competitive in high-pressure settings.
