A powerhouse of a 2028 linebacker and edge rusher, Rylan Horsch Rylan Horsch 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB/EDGE Annandale | 2028 State MN was a key component and contributor to Annandale’s Class AAA title and undefeated season in 2025. The reported size is verified at 6’2+, and Horsch was a big-time performer at NDSU’s ultra-physical and first-ever FBS Prospect Camp that PRZMN got to be on hand for in Fargo this summer. Big, strong, well-built off-ball ‘backer who passes the eye test, Horsch is a fluid mover who can change direction and shut down with little wasted movement, and he was a fun watch when the lights came on and the pads were crackin’ during competition. Horsch was fast, intentional, aggressive, and a particularly effective blitzer during the drills I watched him compete in, not to mention smooth in coverage, which was echoed on the sophomore tape.

Speaking of the tape, Horsch, in 2025, was a booming tackler who made plays all over the box in both run and pass defense. Naturally worked to undercut passing lanes and is a smooth zone coverage defender from his LB spot, as well as a three down LB who can also blitz. Rangy, physical, and flows to the ball smoothly, Horsch does a good job of reading, processing, and getting up and underneath climbing blockers before the play can materialize. Big, fast, strong, natural football player, Horsch has a FCS floor as a recruit and is also on the radar of the Golden Gophers, who sent a gameday invite out recently for the upcoming season. North Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, and South Dakota have also reached out with gameday invites. Horsch is going to be a heckuva good watch in 2026.

Not to toot our own horn, but PRZMN did successfully hit on Annandale’s Rylan Horsch Rylan Horsch 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB/EDGE Annandale | 2028 State MN big-time debut ranking that you see in his PrepRedzone profile to your left. Verified size and athleticism, plus a full year of starting experience on a 2025 Annandale squad that went undefeated and won the Class AAA 13-0 state championship run. With the NDSU staff firmly watching throughout the competition, Horsch was one of the smoothest, most fluid, and fastest performers during drill work, and he could run the hoop, break down/settle smoothly, and generally change direction with little wasted movement and noticeable ease. Horsch showed great acceleration, coordination and soft hands as a pass catcher, and a ton of juice as a blitzer. Great hand usage, strong at initial contact, and could unlock his hips at all, Horsch was coming into pass-rushing situations with a plan, the ability to execute, and the athleticism to counter on the fly. Big-time talent and a no-doubt D1 prospect out of Greater Minnesota and the small school ranks.
