Despite a lopsided final score of 39-12 in a very lopsided game, many of Bergen County's top football prospects were on display in the annual BCJFL All-Star Game late in November. The Red All-Stars were completely dominant from essentially the opening snap. A ferocious defense combined with a plethora of offensive skill guys who could score from anywhere on the field, made it runaway game in their favor. With that said, in a game of All-Stars, take a look at which stars shined brightest for the Red All-Stars.

Headlining the effort in both offense and Special Teams, was Westwood's [player_tooltip player_id='2074347' first='Peter' last='DiBlasi']. The muscled up prospect with a short, powerful gate didn't wait long to show off his ability. DiBlasi kicked off the BCJFL All-Star Game scoring with an untouched 90-yard scamper on the first play of the Red All-Star Team's second possession of the game. As good as the first touchdown was, DiBlasi leveled up on the opening series of the second half. The would-have-been Punt Returner intercepted an errant thrown on a fake punt, and proceeded to bring the ball back 42 yards for a touch down.

From the very first defensive series, the Red All-Stars set the tone for how the BCJFL All-Star Game was going be played: physical and unrelenting. While there were several Red All-Stars that had big performances, leading the way on the defensive front was Waldwick's [player_tooltip player_id='2075641' first='Michael' last='Rhatigan']. The first defensive series alone was a highlight tape for the rangy Edge rusher as he finished with a sack, a batted pass and a pair of TFLs. While the White All-Stars were busy switching QBs to try to get something going, the Warriors standout was busy making life miserable for the White All-Stars offense. He finished the day with half at least half a dozen tackles, multiple TFLs and a countless QB pressures. He was that dude on defense.

Active Linebacker/Running Back that had a notable presence on both sides of the ball for the Red All-Stars. Between multiple Tackles for Loss, fumble recoveries and other big plays, the starting Linebacker was clearly a standout defensively. On the other side of the ball, he found the end zone twice in the game. His first score of the day came with his legs in the opening quarter, only to be outdone in the final quarter of the game, when he was on the receiving end of a knock out blow 46-yard catch and run. Additionally, while it won't show up on the (non-existent) stat sheet, he made a number of big blocks and other effort plays.

Just one of multiple prospects off of the back-to-back BCJFL-Champion River Vale Raiders, Haag was an absolute dog at both Tight End and Outside Linebacker. Given it was an All-Star Game, Haag started only on the defensive side of the ball, but wasted zero time showing his impact. On the first defensive series for the Red All-Stars he tallied a QB hurry and two TFL's. Flipping to the other side of the ball, Haag put on a blocking clinic as an H-Back. On top of that, he was on the receiving end of two PAT receptions.

While he didn't start the game for the Red All-Stars, the Westwood Cardinals QB1 capped off his memorable 2025 season with a strong showing in the All-Star Game. While splitting PT at Quarterback, Wilson had particularly strong second and fourth quarters. His afternoon was was highlighted by opening offensive possession of the second quarter for the Red All-Stars, when he and River Vale's [player_tooltip player_id='2074611' first='Lucas' last='Haag'] developed a nice connection. The duo first connected on a 15-yard pitch and catch, before hooking up a second time on the PAT, capping off the touch down-scoring drive. Putting an exclamation point on his day, he delivered the knockout blow late in the fourth quarter with 46-yard TD pass to [player_tooltip player_id='2074309' first='Nico' last='Santoli']. I'd be remiss if I didn't include his interception in the third quarter, as well.

Along the Red All-Stars defensive front, if it wasn't [player_tooltip player_id='2075641' first='Michael' last='Rhatigan'] making a play, it was number 21. The Carlstadt/ER/Maywood Wildcat product was an athletic mismatch for anyone on the White All-Stars, that had the unfortunate task of trying to block him. Hall looks more like an Edge, Linebacker or some type of Athlete, but he was lined up in the interior Defensive Line. He was simply too quick, too fast and frankly, too unrelenting. He was a constant in the backfield throughout the game, tallying multiple stops behind the line and countless disruptions for the White All-Star offense.

The starting Quarterback for the Red All-Stars, Lawrance didn't contain his contributions to just the offensive side of the ball -- as the the three-sport athlete, also made plays in the defensive secondary. On the very first play of the second quarter, Lawrance played intercepted a ball from his Safety position, which led to a touchdown just two plays later. A few minutes later in the second quarter, he called his own number on a 4th-and-goal for a touchdown that essentially put the game out of reach. He capped off his day with a second INT and a very impressive (though it was negated by a penalty) return, in the fourth quarter.
