With the Elite All-State Team taken care of, we'll spend the month of December handing out Class All-State awards. Now, we move to the offensive side of the ball in 4A.

In writing these articles, we want to cast a wider net, expanding on the names that have already been established as the best of the best across classes, so we won't repeat names that were already listed on the Elite Team.

QUARTERBACK

[player_tooltip player_id='1619687' first='Caden' last='Klein'], SR, Newton

One of the more explosive players in the state this season, Klein did it all through the air and on the ground this season for the Cardinals. As a passer, the senior completed 84-of-159 passes (52.8%) for 1,835 yards, 21 touchdowns and just four picks. On the ground, Klein showed off his state champion-level track speed, taking 106 carries for 940 yards and 21 scores.

RUNNING BACKS

[player_tooltip player_id='1240470' first='Emmanuel' last='Diers'], SR, Pella

One of the more undeniably good players in the state, Diers has only continued to show off his big playmaking ability as a runner and a receiver. Somehow unsigned at this point, a program will stumble upon a gem by adding him late. This season, he led 4A in carries with 293, rushing for 1,807 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also caught 42 passes for 420 yards and four scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='1238169' first='Carter' last='Hoffmann'], SR, Cedar Rapids Xavier

The bell cow back for the state champions, Hoffmann is one of those running backs everybody hates to tackle. As physical as they come and willing to dish out punishment to anyone who dares to try brining him down, the senior tail back was a critical piece to Xavier's title run. He finished the year with 211 carries for 1,339 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground, while grabbing 11 catches for 118 yards and two scores through the air.

WIDE RECEIVERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1619913' first='Finn' last='Martin'], SR, Newton

Klein's go-to receiver, Martin was as productive as they come in 4A, leading the class in receiving yards and touchdowns. All-in-all he finished the year with 49 receptions for 1,173 yards and 15 scores. A pass-catcher with high-level ball skills and the speed to beat defensive backs deep, opposing teams always had to account for Martin.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197479' first='David' last='William'], JR, Storm Lake

A true X-receiver, [player_tooltip player_id='1197479' first='David' last='William'] always stands out when he steps on the football field in northwest Iowa. At 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds, William can go up and get it, reach out and snag the ball away from defenders, and he can run like a deer. He finished the season with 58 receptions for 987 yards and ten scores as the top offensive weapon for the Tornadoes.

TIGHT END

[player_tooltip player_id='1619944' first='Noah' last='Milburn'], SR, Decorah

Committed to North Dakota, [player_tooltip player_id='1619944' first='Noah' last='Milburn'] used a breakout senior campaign and an added 30 pounds from last season to earn an offer from the Fighting Hawks. As a senior, Milburn was one of the top pass-catchers in 4A, grabbing 32 receptions for 544 yards and nine touchdowns. He nearly doubled the next-closest tight end in production in 4A.

OFFENSIVE LINE

[player_tooltip player_id='1631381' first='Mason' last='Hinrichs'], SR, Waverly-Shell Rock

A big offensive lineman at the left tackle spot for WSR, Hinrichs was critical in keeping his quarterback clean and getting the run game going this season for the Go-Hawks. Committed to Upper Iowa, the 6-foot-7 and 320 pound tackle has a boat-load of untapped potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='1751466' first='Andrew' last='Pladsen'], SR, Cedar Rapids Xavier

A senior captain for the Saints, Pladsen was one of the key reasons that Hoffmann could gain so much ground. Of course, he had to gain some momentum before he could shed tackles with ease, and Pladsen kept opposing DL out of the Xavier backfield. That, and he helped [player_tooltip player_id='1827747' first='Cash' last='Parks'] stay upright, allowing the Saints passing attack to be as effective as anyone, as Parks was the lone quarterback in 4A to pass for over 2,000 yards and 28 scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='1818858' first='Mason' last='Griffin'], SR, Gilbert

Part of the second-best rushing attack in 4A with Gilbert, Griffin helped pave the way for the super run-heavy Tiger offense. Gilbert finished the year taking 479 carries for 3,507 yards and 45 touchdowns.

Kolt Ahn, SR, Newton

Another key piece to a high-flying offense, senior captain Kolt Ahn kept things moving forward for the Cardinals. Standing at just 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds, Ahn brought energy, leverage and strength to the Newton rushing and passing attack. Klein, Martin and Power 4-level running back, [player_tooltip player_id='1366537' first='Isaiah' last='Hansen'] have him and the Newton offensive line for much of their production.

[player_tooltip player_id='2049013' first='Benjamin' last='Griffith'], SR, Pella

A big OL similar to that of Hinrichs, Griffith was a monster upfront for Pella this fall. A two-way OL and DL, Griffith plugged holes on defense and opened them up offensively, plowing over defensive linemen before they could reach Diers.
