The 6'4 290 pounder is a two-way starter that made his presence known on both sides of the line this afternoon. He has quick engaging hands and in my eyes, has developed nicely since summer camps with his pad-level he showed off today and on tape. Gavin showed off great footwork today and the same is true on tape as he was more sudden with his feet into the second level than I expected him to be today especially during the live eval of him and the Cardinals in the 9B state championship game. He obviously is another two-way trench monster for St Mary's that has an impressive speed with his get off with his blocks as a defensive tackle. He comes from great football pedigree, as his brother that committed to DWU out of high school just got on scholarship at SDSU at tight end somewhat recently. Dawsen enlightens me from the jump with his athleticism from the top of his route, as one that college coaches should like how he finish his routes. He shows off as a common deep threat at the wide receiver position but man, do I like how proficent he is on all three levels of the field. He also led the Raiders in tackles for a loss as a junior. He reports a 6'5 wingspan, which when I roll into his defensive film, it's evident that Dawsen knows how to use his length as a linebacker. He won WR MVP at our last showcase and has a great catch radius for his size. Carter may not be the biggest wide receiver out there, but every catch I have ever watched him make he does it with a presence that makes his frame seem bigger. He also has great hands that I still after 2-3 showcases have yet to see him drop a ball on any WR reps. He's very efficent with the read option, and utilzing his vision and size to his advantage which you see commonly around the edges of the field. Anderson also showed off more arm talent than I expected, especially when the Tigers were in red zone situations he knew how to utilize his touch throwing ability around the end zone.
