Postseason Round IV- Standout Defensive Performances

What a week!   Today, we're watching some of our Standout Performers on the defensive side of the ball. These prospects dominated this week and have been putting together some impressive seasons- we're all going to have to watch out for them moving forward.   With that being said, make sure you watch their film below!    [player_tooltip player_id='2048395' first='Donnivan' last='Bozeman'] is a talented EDGE who's really caught his stride this season for Jackson's defense.   "Bozeman explodes off the line of scrimmage, is physical at the point of attack, and consistently helps provide great run defense upfront. I'm really impressed with Bozeman's motor and pursuit. He's a high-effort defender who works through multiple blockers and covers lots of space to create stops.   I think Bozemna is a really well-rounded EDGE with plenty of room to develop even more. With his size, speed, and physicality, he easily makes an impact on every down."   Bozeman was unblockable against St. Michael Catholic, racking up 3 tackles (2 for loss), one sack, and six hurries.   I'm excited to watch Bozeman and this Jackson team next week. Make sure you watch some of his tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1211631' first='Henry' last='Smith'] is a dominant DL from Moody who completely took over his team's game against Scottsboro last Friday.   "Smith has a huge presence on the defensive line and can produce in a lot of different ways down in the trenches. Against the run, Smith uses his size and strength to eat up tons of space, close down rushing lanes, and work around OL to get his hands on the ball carrier to create stops.   Smith is just as productive rushing the passer. He has violent hands and speed he uses to quickly work around offensive linemen and get to the quarterback, consistently generating pressure, racking up sacks, and forcing bad decisions with the ball."   Smith was unstoppable this week, racking up 11 total tackles (5 solo, 3 for loss), and 2 sacks.   Check out some of Smith's film below, he's had a heck of a career for Moody:      [player_tooltip player_id='1907082' first='Monroe' last='Partin']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/monroe-partin-2/"></a> is a talented LB out of Bayside Academy who's been on a tear this postseason.   "Partin is a dominant run defender who is excellent at reading and reacting to plays. He quickly gets off the snap, fights off blocks, and closes up rushing lanes at the line of scrimmage to come up with huge stops. Partin is a talented tackler- he's really good in pursuit and does a great job wrapping up and taking down the ball carrier all around the field.   Bayside is equally productive on passing downs- he's excellent at blitzing off-ball, using several different moves to work his way around OL and pressure/take down the quarterback. Partin is terrific at shedding off blocks and has the closing speed to fly to the ball and come up with stops nearly every snap- it's super impressive to watch."   Partin was dominant against Southside, recording 11 tackles (2 for loss) one sack, and a pick six.   Check out some of Partin's film below, you won't be disappointed. He's had an incredible last two seasons for Bayside's defense.      [player_tooltip player_id='2044862' first='Jakari' last='Harris'] is a talented LB/RB from Saraland who came up with a ton of huge stops in their game against Benjamin Russell this past week.   “You can tell right off the bat that Harris is a highly intelligent and instinctual defender on this Saraland defense. He reads and reacts to opposing offenses within milliseconds of the ball snapping, consistently flying to where the play is headed to disrupt and come up with stops.   Harris is a heat-seeking missile. He's highly athletic, can make sideline-to-sideline plays, and has the tackling skills to ensure the ball carrier won't gain any extra yards after he makes contact. Harris also has some impressive skills out in coverage and as a blitzer, making him an every-down threat to opposing offenses.“   Harris was unstoppable this week, recording 12 total tackles (6 solo, 3 for loss) and 2 sacks.   I've become a big fan of Harris this season. He's had a heck of a year, if you haven't already, make sure you watch some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1741300' first='Ayindae' last='Pugh'] is another talented LB who also had a huge performance for Saraland this past week.   “[player_tooltip player_id='1741300' first='Ayindae' last='Pugh']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/ayindae-pugh/"></a> is a physical and athletic LB who has no problem covering tons of ground to create some impressive stops. Pugh is quick, has great strength, and is an impressive playmaker in pursuit who can shut down the run and make plays in coverage.   I'm seriously impressed with Pugh's skills against the run. He's quick to diagnose plays and does a terrific job fighting off blocks to create huge stops down near the line of scrimmage. Everyone should watch out for Pugh and this Saraland defense this fall; they're set up for a big year.“   Pugh recorded 11 total tackles (one for loss) and one sack.
